WGAJK holds 14 events on Day-2 of Winter Games

GULMARG, Mar 24: Winter Games Association of Jammu and Kashmir (WGAJK) under its experts and in collaboration with High Altitude Warfare School, IIS&M and other former international skiers held 14 events of the Winter Games on day-2 at Merry Shoulder Slope of Kongdori, here.
In Senior Snowboarding Giant Slalom competition, Firdous Ahmad Sheikh, Firdous Malik and Yaseen Khanday got first three positions respectively, while in Junior Snowboarding Mehraj Din (Raj) Khan, Zubair Lone and Reyaz Ahmad Bhat clinched first three positions respectively.
In Senior Alpine Ski Championship for men Waseem Bhat, Bilal Ahmad Sheikh and Fayaz Ahmad Hajam got first three positions respectively and in women category, Saba Bashir got first and Shakeela Akhtar claimed 2nd position.
In girls born in 1997-1999, Sabiya Nabi, Zainab Rashid and Marouful Nisa got first three positions respectively while in boys born in 2000-01, Sheikh Sajid Raza, Ayan Tariq Zargar, Yousuf Gul Dev won first three positions respectively.
In girls category, Zara Hashim, Faiqa and Muskan Latief claimed first, second and third positions respectively.
In boys born 2002-03, Shoaib Rashid Malik, Arsalan Manzoor and Sheikh Waleed clinched first three positions and in the same category of girls, Malaikah Gul Dev, Syeda Azha and Sadia Ajaz got first three positions respectively.
In 2004-05 born category, Azhar Hussain, Faizan Ahmad Lone and Mohammad Zaid got first three positions respectively, while in girls category of the same age group, Sarah Ajaz, Nashida Dar and Juwanah got first three positions respectively.
In Nordic Skiing 10 kms men, Mohammad Abid, Syed Javed, Mohamad Ashraf won first three positions respectively and among girls first three positions went to Shakila Akhtar, Nighzat and ifra Anjum respectively.
Among others those who witnessed the competitions were MLA Gulmarg and President WGAJK Mohammad Abbas Wani, Col JS Dhillon, Director IIS&M, Capt C. Mouli of High Altitude Warfare School and Mudasir Mir International Skier and owner of Hotel Pine Palace.
