‘Westworld’ shuts down production amid California wildfires

LOS ANGELES, Dec 6:  Production on popular show “Westworld” has been suspended due to Southern California wildfires.
The HBO fantasy drama was filming its upcoming second season in the area, but the studio decided to shut down production to avoid any danger to cast and crew.
“Due to nearby wildfires, ‘Westworld’ stopped production earlier today and will resume filming as soon as it’s safe to do so,” said A spokesperson of HBO in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The series has been created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, and stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright and James Marsden.
Wildfires have also forced other studios to halt production on their shows as well.
Filming on CBS’ “S.W.A.T.” has also been temporarily suspended. (PTI)
