SAMBA, Jan 5: The West Pak refugees today warned that they will come to streets and launch a massive agitation besides ghearo State Assembly if their demand of granting citizenship rights to them was not conceded till the budget session.
This was announced by the president of West Pak refugees Labba Ram Gandhi while addressing a meeting of the West Pak refugees at its headquarters at Swankha Morh near here, today.
Mr Gandhi said that in case the Government failed to grant citizenship rights to West Pak refugees till the budget session begins the refugees will hold a massive agitation take on the roads and ghearo the State Assembly.
He appealed the Government to settle the issue immediately. A large number of West Pak refugees attended the meeting. They are demanding ownership rights in the State.
Mr Gandhi also announced that his organization will contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections from Jammu – Poonch Lok Sabha Constituency and it this regard the parlays are on with Aam Admi Party (AAP).
He, however, said that in case BJP fields a refugee candidate from Jammu- Poonch Lok Sabha seat the organisation may reconsider the decision.
