SAMBA,  Jan 1: West Pakistan refugees organised a large rally at Swankha in Vijaypur constituency of district  Samba and urged upon the Government to provide justice to them.
Addressing large gathering, leader of the West Pak refugees’  Labba Ram Gandhi alleged that some Kashmir based political parties  were  working against their interests. He said their such type of provocative acts may create tension in the State. The refugees would bounce back and sharply react to any extent if they continued to sabotage their cause.
He said that West Pak refugees  have been struggling for the past several decades but they have not been provided justice.  He  said that this Government has assured citizenship rights  to them but now  another controversy has been raised by providing mere Identity Cards.  He alleged that Valley based parties including National Conference always worked against the interests of the West Pak refugees. The children born here and others living here for the last more than fifty years are not being granted full rights. They are not being considered as state subjects and unable to get Govt jobs.
Mr Gandhi appealed to the refugees to get united and intensify their struggle for their rights. Several other refugee leaders also addressed the gathering and criticized the Govt for ignoring the genuine issues of the West Pak refugees.
