West Pak Refugees to get ration as per past practice: DyCM

JAMMU, Nov 23:  The West Pak Refugees will continue to get ration as per the past precedence and ration coupons will be issued to the genuine beneficiaries so that adequate supply of ration and other related items is ensured.
This was decided at a meeting held here under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh in which Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali was also present.
Senior officers of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and other departments attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that the total number of 19960 West Pak Refugees are being provided ration and other related items which includes 2199 families in 88 villages of Kathua, 2051 in 75 villages of Bishnah, 1096 families in 82 villages of Hiranagar, 3348 families in 138 villages in RS Pura 1632 families in 134 villages of Samba, 2271 families in 95 villages of Akhnoor, 6908 families in 322 villages of Jammu. Similarly, 41 families are being provided ration in Udhampur, 08 families in Reasi and 5 families in Doda respectively.
The meeting was also informed that West Pak Refugees have never been barred from ration since 1947 and the reports in this regard are totally baseless and misleading.
