Samba encounter over as Army blasts house

KAILA MANDI, SAMBA, May 11 : The Army blew up a house in which two militants were hiding , ending a day-long encounter in which six people including a photojournalist and an army jawan were killed at Kaili Mandi in Samba district in Jammu and Kashmir today. The two militants were also killed in the encounter which has raised questions on the BSF's claim to have foiled a ''major infiltration bid'' from the International Border nearby, in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday night.....more

8 jawans killed as army vehicle fall in river

JAMMU : Eight Army jawans were today killed when an Army vehicle fell into the Chenab river in Doda district. A vehicle of eight Rashtriya Rifles was on its way to Doda town when it skidded off the road and rolled into the river at Ghat area in the afternoon, officials said.....more
