Kabul bombings
Sir,
The recent bombing
of Indian Embassy in Kabul in which four Indians
including a defence officer of the rank of a
Brigadier as well as forty other people lost
their lives indicates the anti India hate
campaign launched by anti India forces in
Afghanistan.
The present
situation in Afganistan is grim. Afghan Taliban
are no longer in control of Pakistani handlers
and hence the Inter Services Intelligence
agencies of Pakistan are working overtime to
counter or neutralise their loosing grip over
Afganistan. The rise of new Taliban cadre in the
borders of Northwest Pakistan is a disturbing
news. Reports are that Pakistan is organising a
Pakistani based Taliban structure which would
take the dictats of Pakistani masters without
raising any finger. The original Taliban cadres
are at war with Pakistan for its alleged
involvement with USA to rein in terror machine.
These cadres have openly revolted against the
Pakistani army which is now locked in a war like
situation with it. Already Beitullah Mashud is
knocking at the doors of Peshawar.
On the other hand
stinged with the increased peace keeping and
developmental activities in Afganistan by India,
Pakistan fears that the dream of getting a
strategic depth is being lost. So in order to put
a halt to Indian presence in Afganistan the
Pakistani intelligence agencies have planned the
attack with the help of Pak based Taliban
elements. Soon after the blast at the embassy the
intelligence experts found that there was an
unmistakable stamp of ISI managed plot. The
evidence points out towards ISI. National
Security Advisor has also blamed Pakistan for the
first ever bombings of Indian embassy.
This bombing will
never deter the resolve of our country to help
the Afghan brothers in their efforts to
reconstruct a new Afganistan. The dirty tricks of
ISI and other anti India establishments have to
realise that they cannot cowdown India's resolve
to fight terror. We are prepared to fight it out
and as the National Security Advisor has rightly
said the time to pay back in the same coin has
come. Indian blood is not dispensable. The
Government has to realise it. But in the moment
of trial we have to remain united in our efforts
to fight the terror groups.
Yours etcc.

Gladni episode
Sir,
The burning out of
transformer at Gladni has put the people of
Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch to great trouble.
People are suffering on account of power cuts
which go on for hours together. In this weather
when power is one of the most basic necessities
the people of Jammu division are facing untold
hardships because of the power cut.
In this moment of
crisis there is nobody who has come to our
rescue. The political parties which make tall
claims of looking for the comfort of the people
have not come to rescue of the people. The
politicians are busy in trying to garner votes
for the coming elections while as the man on the
street is braving untold hardships.
With such a bad
situation at least a news report published in
this paper has moved us to praise at least the
efforts of former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad
to try to procure on loan a spare transformer to
tide over the dificult situation facing the
region (July 13). We may differ with the policies
of any political party but if we are impartial
then at least we should praise the efforts of the
former Chief Minister for his efforts to get on
loan a transformer till a permanent solution to
the grave problem is found.

Fostering 'Sanskars'
Sir,
The present times
are seeing a decline in moral conduct and ethics.
In a recent survey it has been seen that
corruption alone accounts for the draining out of
a sizeable chunk of financial might of the
country which otherwise would have helped in
funding the developmental activities of the
country.
Moral downslide
has eaten the inner vitals of our society. The
result is that we are presently witness to a
moral and ethical vacuum. A country like India
which has to its credit the best philosophies and
great spiritual tradition the erosion of moral
base is verily a cause of concern. But if we all
put our heads together we can start a war against
the moral downslide. ''Sanskar'' is one such
organisation which impresses upon the people and
the youth in particular to lead a life full of
ethics. This organisation organises debates and
symposia at school and college level.
Corruption is one
of the most dangerous enemies of the society. We
have to introduce morality as compulsory subject
in order to rootout the dragon of corruption from
our minds. We have to impress upon the youth of
this country that without moral education they
will become only machines without minds. In this
scene the efforts of organisation like 'Sanskar'
can play a meaningful role.
Yours etc...
