JAMMU, Jan 30: Amidst unprecedented pandemonium which saw forcible eviction of all four National Panthers Party (NPP) legislators, Speaker Tara Chand this afternoon adjourned the Assembly sine die ahead of 10 days after the House approved clubbed grants of nearly 20 Departments within 5 minutes in first sitting and approved the budget (Appropriation Bill) in just four minutes in second sitting with ‘yes’ from the treasury benches and massive sloganeering from entire Opposition. With grants of Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig’s Departments also passed earlier in the day, budget of nearly 25 Departments was passed in a single day without any debate by the members or reply by the Ministers as per the practice....more
