JAMMU, Jan 16: Widely dubbed as an "election budget", Finance Minister Tariq Hamid Qarra today presented his second consecutive and coalition Government’s sixth straight budget for financial year 2008-09 worth Rs 18443 crore in the Legislative Assembly proposing no fresh taxes, announcing several incentives for industry, promising an employment policy and declaring 86 per cent development component in next year’s annual plan....more
