Highway
reopens partially after two days closure
SRINAGAR, Jan Traffic on the
300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu National
Highway resumed this afternoon partially
after remaining suspended since yesterday
due to landslides and heavy snowfall.
About 500 vehicles, carrying passengers
and essential commodities which were
stranded on the highway since yesterday,
were allowed to proceed towards their
respective destinations this afternoon, a

members of ruling Congress-PDP coalition
from Jammu region today echoed the
sentiments of Opposition members
including Panthers Party and BJP seeking
increase in wages of PHE workers, engaged
under Community Participation programme,
from Rs 500 to Rs 2100 at par with the
workers engaged in Kashmir valley. The
issue generated heat in the Assembly
during Zero Hour leading to walk-out by
all five MLAs of Panthers Party and BJP.....more
