Our responsibility

Sir,

After passing through so many emotional upheavels and thought processes over last 60 days for whatever is happening in the State, this is for the first time that I am jotting down my mind on paper.

To begin with I strongly believe most of humans are born as good being, who want to live in peace and happiness and will like to work towards prosperity and harmony, both individual and social (as both are interrelated). And if what I think is right then why this much of turbulence and strong polarisation of societies. Are all people who live at either side of Peer Panchal tunnel are violent and think coherently with violent agitations going on either side, or people are made to believe what this protesters are saying is actually correct and rest all thought process happening in any body's mind is not worth talking about. Are there not many people in the State who have friends or knowns on other side who have the same thought processes. When one is not allowed to air his views in hostile and how could they vouch for democracy? The fact is that democratic authenticity does not accrue to mobs and crowds. Then whose responsibility is to educate our own people about what, how and why these things are happening ?

Any civilised society will not approve violence and depredation for its voice to be heard. First and foremost for all likeminded people is to start discussing among themselves is exactly what they want and how do you want to acheive, also is what we are desiring is in large interest of humanity and natio we proudly relate ourselves to.

What values do we want our children to inculcate and to be brought up with. Are not we all responsible for this mayhem ? Those who talk about ''Jammu psyche'' and ''Kashmir aspirations' are essentially parroting the divide in the society.

In the context of all above I very honestly and sicnerely feel that all the confusion and chaos this internal confusion in the first place escalated b minor political and social problem has blown into major national crisis. All leaders true to their salt need to realise that as they are the persons looked up to, have to decide what is right for country or should I say humanity irrespective of its political, electoral and monetary consequences.

All said and done the young and energetic lot of both the regions should rise up and give a ray of hope for the humanity by being more interacive and am very sur with their extreme limits of talent and global outlook they will surely make a difference and find peace and confidence for the revival of age old humanism and regional affinity.

Let us focus on Olympics 2012

Sir,

We the people of India are immensely proud of the achievements of Abhinav Bindra shooter, Sushil Kumar wrestler and Vijender Kumar boxer in winning individual Olympic medals respectively. We are indebted to them, their family members and their coaches whose collective efforts and endeavours have culminated into this wonderful achievement.

We should realise that we have to provide all facility to the sports persons. But the situation is not good at all. Not to talk of any daily refreshment and other financial support to attract the players in sports field, even the basic playing equipments, gears and other paraphernalia are not provided to the players to carry on their sport activities, due to which the players and their parents are always double minded and in a fix to take the risk of survival of their wards in sports field in absence of all basic requirements, encouragements and future survival security. For example if a child wants to become badminton player, skater or Table Tennis player etc , he/she is supposed to purchase his/her own racquet/shuttles/T.T. bats/balls, skates and other kits, otherwise one has to remain empty handed idle in the stadium. For instance, the cost of badminton racquet to play even at least at State level, starts from Rs.1200/- upto Rs.8000/-, whereas the cost of a good shuttle starts from Rs.50/- and that too just for one game. Likewise skates start from Rs.500/- to 5000/-. So when our sports authorities or associations are unable to provide all these basic requirements, how can one expect good players in our society. Resultantly in the alternative many budding badminton players are forced to play just with the spoiled/used shuttles left by the veteran players in the stadium.

In such a situation, only the rich background players can survive to overcome all these financial hurdles, whereas rest of players, even very talented players, being poor and not in a position to purchase all this from their parents’ pockets, remain out of race.

In this backdrop, let our sports authorities ensure each and every player in our society with all basic requisite equipments, gears and other paraphernalia coupled with good coaching, besides full financial security of survival right from the start of career of a player and even after his/her sports career is over. Then the day is not far when there shall be numerous "Bindras", "Sushils" and "Vajinders" in our country to fetch medals to top the tally of medals at national and international level.

Yours etc…
