Human Resource Management
Sir,
Our education
systems need to be strengthened and be of
quality, accredited, standardized besides being
innovative and create. We seriously lack this
today. Education without civilization is useless,
an area we seriously lack. Therefore, of prime
importance is right thinking, right attitudes and
raising a disciplined human force that is
bubbling, that is infused with a strong National
Character. Bharat Nirman is meaningless with
doles and subsidies. We must transform human
resource into a self supporting, self sustaining
strong work force. This is the major challenge to
our Human Resource Managers. We need to carefully
develop human resource: neither making them
machines nor stooges but excellent human beings
who are committed, with integrity, hard working,
knowledgeable, intelligent, dedicated and
efficient. We ought to work on the paradigms. A
resource of excellence, a resource with merit can
bring about very fast and significant changes.
This throws new challenges on our political
father who continue being busy in their own petty
tangles.
The best of
machines, materials, money and management can do
little without the best of manpower. And manpower
without morals, values and ethics again gives
disastrous results. Automation in industries and
offices, thanks to the extensive computerization,
has changed the role of HRM. For the total
quality product we need all inputs of quality and
the most important is the human resource. We
continue to suffer on this front. Though we drive
courage and hope from multinationals and the
Ambanis, Tatas, Birlas, Narain Murthy, Premji and
their likes a vast India needs such creative,
innovative and visionary forces all over. More
important than materialistic development,
industrialization, concrete jungles is a humane
civilized mankind who also values and respects
ecology and environment.
The HR management
is under these dynamic challenges that
necessitate looking in for qualitative
improvement of human beings, footing down
corruption of kind, mind and soul and
transforming the human race as the most
respectful, most valuable asset of an
organization, an institution, an establishment,
the State and the nation. Only then can we be
leaders in the Global peaceful co-existence. We
are fortunately blessed with a rich culture and
heritage and blended with true spiritualism must
pave way for an easier transformation.

Knowledge state
Sir,
From a Backward
State in education our State at present is
emerging as a knowledge state. The educational
scenario is undergoing a rapid change in the
State. Scores of B.Ed Colleges have come up in
the State which are attracting thousands of
students from the nearby states. This has not
only given a new impetus to the educational
scenario in the state but it has created an
infrastructure that is providing directly and
indirectly employment to many unemployed youth in
the region.
The second
important aspect is the operationalization of new
universities in the State. Previously we had
Jammu University and Kashmir University. Then a
third university of Agricultural Sciences came
up. After that three new universities have come
up. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Baba
Ghulam Shah Badshah University and Islamic
University are giving a great contribute to the
education in the State. In addition to this Jammu
University has opened campuses in Bhaderwah and
Rajouri areas. There are plus afoot to establish
another University in Kashmir Valley called
Sharda University with so many seats of
excellence operating in the State it is not an
exaggeration that the State is turning into a
knowledge center where different sciences and
arts are getting increasingly introduced to the
students. The future of education looks bright
for the people of the State.
Yours etc
