Power of tolerance
Sir,
Tolerance
is the power of endurance. It is the willingness
to listen to and treat gently the differences of
others. It is to be broad-minded and to show
respect of the other peoples opinions and
actions. Tolerance makes enemies into friends and
enables one to less those who are defamatory in
nature. It means to bestow the sweet fruit of
love and good wishes even when confronted with
difficulties negatively and ill feeling. To
develop the virtue of tolerance, one must
practice love and self-restraint constantly. You
have to be merciful with the self as well as
others. You have to be familiar with the law of
cause and effect and the inevitability of change.
You must be a detached lover and observer and
must develop and experience self respect and the
virtue of humility. No matter how angry other
people make you, no matter how much they defame
and insult you, be loving and speak sweetly. A
quality necessary to exercise tolerance is
endurance. Tolerance means to endure all
difficulties with love and humility. Each person
has his own personality and qualities. If you
always remember this, then the power of tolerance
becomes easy to inculcate. The supreme is
tolerance personified. He has tolerated much
defamation and blasphemy yet. He is merciful,
loving and offers salvation to and his children.
An essential characteristic of both nobility and
royalty is tolerance. It is the excellence of
mind and character. You have to be unshakable
when difficulties present themselves. As a matter
of fact, you have to convert obstacles into
opportunities. Stability of the mind can change
all negatives into positives as the rose plant
transforms the nutrients of manure into sweet
smelling fragrance. The tolerant person is always
cheerful in any situation. Such a person is free
from upsets, sadness depression worry pain
confusion, pique, loneliness and boredom.
Tolerance enables the self to grow and blossom
even in unfavourable conditions and to overcome
all obstacles. Tolerance builds bridges across
the chasms of human misunderstanding. With this
virtue pain can be transcended and old wounds
allowed to heal. Smile and world smiles with you,
cry and you cay alone. Tolerance is the sign of
cheerful mind. How does one develop the true
virtue of tolerance. Have constant practice of
soul conspicuousness. Develop merciful vision by
experiencing the supreme's love deeply and having
mercy on the self.
Be the embodiment of foregiveness to all.
Understand the philosophy of Karma, the law of
reciprocity and the knowledge of the creator and
the creation. Maintain stability in times of
crisis. Then empower the self with the virtue of
the tolerance. Tolerance is more divine than
intellectual. It enhances will power.

Jammu festival
Sir,
The
recent held Jammu Festival gave me the
opportunity to see Jammu on such an International
canvas that I could not resist my self to share
my views with the readers to this paper. The
closing event 'Mega Cultural show presented by
Natrang under the magical direction of Balwant
Thakur realized us all that Jammu is amazing.
After watching such an electrifying programme on
the culture of Jammu anybody can fall in love
with Jammu its culture the creative
manifestations. The Chief could not resist
himself and gave a standing ovation to the
International class show of Natrang. Jammu has
been lagging behind in many spheres but after
witnessing the Mega Cultural show, I can proudly
pronounce that we are number one in India in
cultural presentations. Over two hundred artists
performing together thus glorifying the rich
cultural history of Dogras. Such programmes
should be continued for months together so as to
educate the younger generations about their rich
past.
Unfortunately people including me have the
inferior complex about our language and culture.
But after witnessing the collage created by our
genuine Balwant Thakur a sense of proud will
prevail in every Jammuite. Elections are drawing
near and every party will start beating drums for
Jammu.
If the really want Jammu to take pride in its
identity. They should promote such programmes
which have the capacity to cement the secularism
in Jammu. I was dazzled to see unity and
diversity of J&K and impressed by the
programme the Chief Minister spoke at lengthy
about the unique diversity of J&K. People of
Jammu should arrange public reception for all the
artists who participated in this function. Kudos
to them they have made Jammu proud.
Yours etc...
