Falling moral
standards
Sir,
The deteriorating morals standards
in Indian society and its youth is a cause of
concern for our social thinkers, philosophers and
educationists. The value system on which our rich
Indian culture is based are diminishing fast. Now
a day, greater importance is being given to
wealth and material gains without ascertaining
the sources through which it is acquired studies
have shown that crime rates, sexuals abuse,
divorce, rape cases, murders, broken families are
on a rapid increase along with the increase in
our wealth. This means that with our economic
prosperity, we are losing on our moral and
spiritual side. With this, moral corruption has
increased in the society and continuation of our
rich valued culture and its preservance is in
danger.
With the screening of nude and vulgar movies on
private TV channels, freedom to use cellular
phones and other such things by our teenagers,
lack of proper moral guidance by teachers and
parents has led to the disappearance of moral
values from our centres of leaning. Teachers and
parents who commit offences and indulge in
mal-practice and unfairmeans has rendered our
youth to follow unethical behaviour of such type
persons as they imitate their teachers/parents
blindly. Thus, instead of raising great hue and
cry against children deviating from moral code of
conduct, parents should act more responsibility
and honestly to lead their children follow normal
socially acceptable behaviour. At the school
level, efforts should be made to introduce moral
education as full subject. Moreover, there is a
need to impose strict ban on vulgar/nude pvt.
channels and vulgar films which are hell bent to
destroy our rich value based society.

Nuke weapons
Sir,
India has sought an unequivocal
commitment from all the countries of the world
especially those who have nuke weapons to
eliminate the design, development, fabrication
and deployment of nuke weapons. This is in line
with the time tested and unwavering policy of the
country to discourage the deployment and use of
nuke weapons.
India's Ambassador to UN, Nirupam Sen appealed
the member states to ensure that a dialogue
process is started in this direction which would
finally result in the elimination of nuke
weapons. There are few people and countries who
have all long felt that India despite its
commitment is not doing well to create an
atmosphere for the nuke proliferation. Happily
such people and countries have a dubious record
and are themselves activily engaging in the
development of nuke weapons.
India's nuke policy has been of no first use.
This again reiterates the stand of the country in
nuclear policy. We were forced to adopt counter
measures in order to vacate the nuke threat that
was taking menacing proportions especially in our
immediate neighborhood. With Pakistan and China
developing nuke weapons and deploying them with
the sole aim of targeting the country cannot be
simply wished away. But despite that virtual
nuclerisation of the neighborhood India has made
its stand clear at the UN. We hope that India's
views will gather support and momentum which
would help in ensuring a nuclear free world in
future.

Upgrade connectivity
Sir,
It is our pleasure to express
through the columns of your ''daily'' that the
services rendered by the said agency (BSNL) are
very very poor and unsatisfactory. The purpose of
installing telephonic connections are having
mobile telephones, in the present situations, is
badly defeated. It goes without saying that the
governmental agencies donot deliver desired
results as compared to other ones. Perhaps
lackadaisical attitude of employees in
principally contributing factor is not producing
required goods and here who disagrees that
irregular services are always problematic and
disturbing especially in the hour of need. It is
very sorry and disheatening that instead of
extending satisfactory services, the agency is
not coming upto expectations. Particularly, the
public of hilly areas is extremely victimised of
poor services of BSNL. The governmental
authorities in this regard are requested to
kindly to do the needful to ensure regular and
proper communicational facilities in hilly and
remote areas.
Yours etc...
