Soldier detained, 30 hurt in clashes

SRINAGAR, Oct 20: Following registration of murder case against a Major and a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), as also detention of a soldier, angry residents in Kupwara have conducted funeral rites of school teacher Abdur Rasheed Mir but not before 30 persons, including 10 Police personnel, were left wounded in 5-hour-long ding-dong clashes today. Thirty-year-old pedagogue had been allegedly killed in cold blood by soldiers of Army's 46 AD while on road opening duty in Kralpora area on Friday......more
