SRINAGAR, Dec 19: With the reputation
of having managed backdoor appointment of
both of his sons in the University of
Kashmir, Vice Chancellor Prof Abdul
Waheed Qureshi has not only stuck to his
chair at the end of his three-year term
but has also ordered promotion of two of
his favourite Assistant Registrars (ARs)
without the knowledge and necessary
approval of the Chancellor and Governor
Lt Gen (retd) S K Sinha. A three-member
Search Committee, headed by former VC of
Aligarh Muslim University,
Mehmood-ur-Rehman has, meanwhile, begun
the exercise for selection of the new VC
