SRINAGAR, Dec 15: Demanding establishment of a degree college, residents of Magam area in Budgam district today faced bullets from Police when they gave Kashmir valley's first martyr to a non-political cause amid massive demonstrations and ding-dong clashes in which two vehicles were torched and five personnel had a narrow escape. As nearly 40 persons, including eight Police personnel, sustained injuries and three civilians were battling for life at hospital, 24-year-old shopkeeper, Zahoor Ahmed Mir, was buried amid high tension when more than 5,000 people participated in his funeral late tonight while shouting anti-Police and anti-Government slogans.....more
