Lt Gen Sekhon takes over as GOC 15 Corps

Srinagar, Lieutenant General Amarjeet Singh Sekhon today took over as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Army’s 15 Corps, a defence spokesman said. He replaces Lt Gen S S Dhillon, who has been shifted to Delhi as Master General of Ordnance, the spokesman said. Lt Gen Sekhon was commissioned in the Sikh Light Infantry regiment in 1970 and has an illustrious career spanning 36 years. ..........more

Five injured, police station attacked in north Kashmir

Baramulla, :Five persons were injured in a grenade blast while militants made an abortive bid to blow up police station in north Kashmir overnight, official sources said today. Militants today hurled a hand grenade towards security forces at Sopore in this north Kashmir district. However, it missed the intended target and exploded on the roadside causing injuries to five civilians. The injured were admitted to hospital........more

Moulvi helps in arrests
