SRINAGAR, Oct 16: Senior PDP leader and Minister incharge Finance, Tariq Hameed Qarra, today landed in a situation of embarrassment as he failed to get the Cabinet sanction to his dramatic decision of releasing 5% of the DA due to the State Government employees since July this year. Informed sources said that Ministers belonging to Congress party raked up the issue of Mr Qarra making such an announcement without taking the Cabinet into confidence. Mr Qarra's announcement had come through official media last evening. Asked for his comments over the subject, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad confirmed to the EXCELSIOR that Cabinet had not accorded sanction to release of DA in today's.....more
