SRINAGAR, Oct 13: In a significant development, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has begun to cancel all the scandalous allotments of prime land made in the Department of Evacuees' Property (DEP) in the last over two years. The first bombshell has come in the cancellation of allotment of prime land at Hyderpora, Nishat, Bren and Nawab Bazar in Srinagar while a notice has been issued to Cancer Society of Kashmir (CSK) for similar cancellation of the allotment of 32 kanals of land at Zakoora......more

J&K Bank profit goes up

JAMMU, Oct 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Bank has recorded a net profit of Rs 84.02 crore in the second quarter of 2006-07, an increase of 54 percent from Rs 54.97 crore in the corresponding quarter of 2005-06. The bank's operating profit has gone up by 34 percent at Rs 142.88 crore as compared to Rs 106.79 crore in during the period of 2005-06. ..........more
