Tehsil Action Committee Majalta meets Bloeria

Excelsior Correspondent

UDHAMPUR, Nov 25: An All Party Action Committee Majalta delegation met S S Bloeria and demanded re-organization of newly created districts and tehsils in the State.

The delegation expressed apprehensions that some outsiders were working overtime to annex recently upgraded Majalta tehsil from already truncated Udhampur and drag it down to newly created border district of Samba, which is a Kandi heartland. The delegation explained to the Chairman that entire belt from Bani to Basohli to Billawar at Majalta to Udhampur represents a uniquely integrated valley cut up between two chains of mountains.

The delegation further stated that Majalta block has been an integral part of Udhampur district for over 100 years and its natural geography, near green ecology and temperate environment are uniquely reflected in the integrated whole represented by it, besides Majalta inhabitants’ socio-cultural bonds, socio-lingual affinity etc and in such circumstances clipping Majalta tehsil out of Udhampur would not been taken kindly even by one out of one thousand souls thereover.

The delegation was headed by Tehsil Action Committee president Bhupinder Singh Pathania and comprised of leaders of all the political parties.
