SRINAGAR, Nov 2: In a dramatic operation, Forest Protection Force (FPF) has seized a tipper, laden with 300 cft of timber, which was being smuggled during last night by officials of the Pirpanjal Forest Division in Budgam-Raithan-Khansahib belt. Even as the timber has been seized and the driver of the tipper has managed to escape, influential men running and patronising the timber mafia in Budgam district have begun frantic efforts to assert that the quantity of timber was being transported for renovation of a mosque at Dreygam.......more
