Militant-Police nexus surfaces in Shopian

SRINAGAR, Jan 22: Days after Police unearthed the "coalition of terror" involving two councilors of the PDP and Congress parties in Srinagar, a deadlier Police-militant nexus has surfaced in Shopian area of south Kashmir. Two personnel of Special Operations Group (SOG) of District Pulwama Police, who had been appointed on the basis of their counter-insurgency operations but later worked for Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, have been arrested and disarmed. Meanwhile, Baramulla Police have arrested two officials of Bombay Mercantile Co-operative Bank (BMCB) who had visited Pakistan on passport and visa and were allegedly working for Lashkar-e-Toiba..........more
