J&K Bank’s stocks crossed Rs 600/share mark on the 18th of this month. While the last two days have seen most bank scrips take a dip, J&K Bank’s prices on both exchanges closed above Rs 650/share.

The bank’s Chairman and Chief Executive Dr Haseeb A Drabu confirmed that the outcome was not really market trend but a specific reaction in the market on how the bank has been performing. " The foreign institutional investor appetite has been overwhelming. The prices are an indicator of our performance over the last six quarters and expectation for the coming quarter. Our decision to focus on J&K and lend more within the state is bearing fruit. At 1.3 times the current book value, our stock has been re-rated by the markets.

Over 5 lakh shares have been traded in the last three days. This time last year, the scrip had sustainable crossed Rs 500 mark, which was then the highest ever.
