Improving
education
Sir,
The existing systems of
education has focused the attention of
the concerned especially the educational
authority and bureaucrats. The increasing
burden on the children due to large
syllabus and request of the children to
acquire more knowledge in the changing
scenario of IT, Science and Technology,
has made the teachers equally
responsible, accountable, conscientious
and duty bound to be familiar and
conversant with the sound knowledge of
the subjects and syllabus they impart in
the educational institutions. With the
change of time, education is being
diverted and centered round the private
institutions due to lack of quality
education in Govt. schools. The parents
who are concerned about the future of
their wards, are try to seek the
admission of the wards in reputed
educational institutions having adequate
infrastructure and qualified staff. But
the fact is that reputed educational
institutions rarely exist in the present
context wherein quality education could
be given and further more, majority of
the parents can ill efford to admit their
wards in reputed educational institutions
that are charging fees at a very high
rate. They are running the institutions
from their own resources and are lacking
any kind of assistance and financial
support. The teachers, who are to impart
education in private institutions, do not
get sufficient salary whereas they are
instructed and directed to impart better
education to the children.
Time is ripe wherein it is
imperative that sincere and consistent
efforts are made by authority concerned
and the Government to explore the
possibility of planning a new education
policy in such a way so as to make the
education at primary and secondary level
innovative in terms of value, culture,
objectivity wisdom, morality. To achieve
the purposes and objectives of changing
scenario of our modern egalitarian
society, education requires due
consideration in all respect.
The Chief Minister has
advised the private institutions to
impart value, social behavior among the
students. It is pertinent to mention here
that quality education in private
institutions can be improved to a greater
extent if the private institutions are
encouraged and assisted by providing them
the requisite facilities and financial
support. Constitution of commission to
recast the existing education policy as
announced by the Chief Minister on 09
Oct. 2006, will be a welcome measure when
the same will be constituted and
implemented. The personal involvement of
the Chief Minister is necessary in this
education sector. There is dire need to
explore the possibility of improving the
education and step taken by Chief
Minister, will be highly appreciated by
the public in general as he is being
appreciated by the masses in other
development sectors.

Condition
of State Public Sector
Sir,
Public Sector Employee
constitute a large segement of State
employees. To protect the rights of
Public Sector Employees no step has been
taken with the result the standard of
living of these employees have been
slashed down vigorously. It would not
been out of place to mention here that
the Provident fund of employees has not
been deposited for more than 5 years
which is a big crime as the only saving
of employee is provident fund which is
utilised in the rainy days.
Besides Cola arrears, (cost
of living allowance) which is applied to
the corporation employees on price index
basis has also not been announced by the
State Government since January '2004.
It is very strange to
mention here that even the salary of
employees is not being disbursed/assured
in due time with the result the employees
are demoralised badly. If the Govt.
cannot feed these few thousand of
employees, can be easily absorbed in the
State Government in lieu of fresh
recruitment.
The Government is playing
with the families of the employees by way
of verbal assurance only other then
resolving the problems of these
employees.
It is fully hoped from the
Chief Minister that he will take
immediate some positive and concrete
steps to solve the grievences of public
sector employees sympathetically and for
their future prospective.
Yours
etc...
