Information Campaign at Kishtwar from Aug

JAMMU, Aug 24: To create awareness
and disseminate information about the
flagship programmes of the Central
Government at the door-steps of
beneficiaries, particularly in the rural
areas, Press Information Bureau (PIB),
Government of India, is going to organise
Public Information Campaigns (PICs) in
the State alongwith other parts of the
country.
In J&K
State, PICs are being organised at
Kishtwar, Leh and Poonch wherein
information regarding important Central
Government programmes alongwith
demonstration and detailed information on
how to avail the benefits under these
programmes, will be made available by
various agencies of the Government.
This was
informed by Mrs Bharti Vaid, Director
Media and Communication, PIB, Government
of India, while addressing a news
conference, here today.
"The
first PIC is being organised at Kishtwar
from August 29 to September 3, which
shall be inaugurated by Chief Minister
Ghulam Nabi Azad and during the period of
campaign, 20 to 25 stalls will be set up
at the main venue to display the
products, schemes and achievements etc
for information of beneficiaries,"
she informed.
Besides
putting up stalls, Mrs Vaid added, PIB
would also organise workshops on the
Central Governments flagship
programmes such as Bharat Nirman,
National Rural Employment Guarantee Act,
National Rural Health Mission, Sarv
Shiksha Abhiyan, Mid Day Meal Programme,
Jawahar Lal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission,
Right to Information Act, etc.
Resource
persons from various departments/banks
and organisations will participate in
these workshops and deliver lecturers on
related subjects besides interacting with
the rural people.
"These
campaigns will not only disseminate
information to the targetted
beneficiaries while focussing on the said
schemes in rural areas but would in fact
make serious attempts to bring benefits
at the doorsteps of these
beneficiaries," Mrs Vaid claimed and
added that the PIB has planned to cover
40-50 villages apart from the main venue
where the PIC will be launched.
For
successful conduct of the PICs, the PIB
is collaborating with other media units
of the Ministry of Information and
Broadcasting such as Directorate of Field
Publicity, DAVP, Song and Drama Division,
Doordarshan and Radio. "PSUs such as
lead Banks, Insurance companies, NABARD,
local NGOs, youth organisations are also
being actively involved in the
campaigns," informed Mrs Vaid who
was accompanied by Director Doordarshan
Kendra S Daljit Singh and Station
Director of Radio Kashmir Jammu, T
Aungumo, in the press conference.

 Digital metering
in Srinagar, Jammu to be
completed by Oct

SRINAGAR, Aug 24:
Minister for Power,
Nawang Rigzin Jora has said that
digital metering launched in
major cities of Srinagar and
Jammu under reformatory measures
being introduced country wide in
Power sector, would be completed
by the end of October this year.
Mr.
Jora said that reformatory
measures introduced under the
Accelerated Power Development
Reformation Programme (APDRP) in
the State like else where in the
country during last year aimed at
improving the power scenario. He
said the present Government is
determined to install the meters
in every nook and corner of the
State with a view to plug power
and revenue pilferage. He said
there is no alternative but to go
for metering in all the areas to
reduce the power losses at
various levels to improve the
power scenario in the State.
Addressing
a press conference here today,
Minister asserted that power
situation has witnessed great
improvement in the areas where
digital metering has been done
bringing down load shedding to
zero level. He appealed people to
cooperate with the PDD
authorities in installation of
meters and in return ensured
power stabilization. He said that
36,000 meters were installed last
year in different areas of the
Valley and about 20,000 more
households were covered during
the first six months of the
current financial year.
Mr.
Jora sought the cooperation of
Legislators, Corporators and the
people in general for making the
programme of metering a grand
success. At the same time he
enjoined upon the PDD authorities
to educate the people about the
benefits of metering.

JMC
to develop cremation grounds

JAMMU, Aug 24: Several decisions
were taken in a meeting of 12th General
Function Committee of the Jammu Municipal
Corporation held under the chairmanship
of Mayor Ch Manmohan Singh here today.
The issues
regarding betterment of civic amenities
were discussed in detail. It was decided
that officers of the Corporation will
jointly conduct survey of all the
cremation grounds which urgently need the
basic infrastructure.
It was
further decided that as the inhabitants
of Gangyal, Kunjwani and Greater Kailash
perform the last rites of their near and
dears at Bandu Rakh cremation ground the
same will be developed by the Corporation
although the same is out of
Corporations jurisdiction.
The
meeting decided to purchase new
loader-cum-excavator to further
strengthen the work of lifting garbage
etc. It was also decided that a new sky
lift vehicle will be purchased for
effective maintenance of main road lights
which will shortly be transferred to JMC.
As
Corporation is running short of linemen,
it was decided that Corporation will
engage private agencies through tenders
for maintenance of the street lights.
Tenders will also be called for
sanitation work in Gandhi Nagar wards.
It was
also decided that next general body
meeting of the Corporation will be held
at newly constructed conference hall
which will be inaugurated by the Chief
Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on August 31,
2006.

Charak
inspects pace of work on migrant township

SRINAGAR, Aug 24: Minister of State
for R&B Gulchain Singh Charak today
visited different areas of Budgam
district and inspected various on going
development projects.
The
projects inspected include Migrant
Township at Sheikhpora Budgam, Haj House
Bemina, Grider bridge near Town Hall
Budgam and Naraspora Budgam.
Mr. Charak
said that Migrant township at Sheikhpora
Budgam comprising 200 room flats is being
constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.
20 crore. So far Rs. 18 crore has been
incurred on the project. The work on the
Migrant township was started during April
2004 and is nearing completion. He said
that these sets have all modern
facilities.
During his
inspection of the Haj House under
construction at Bemina the Minister was
informed that the complex would be
completed at an estimated cost of Rs.
13.33 crore. The complex will have
immigration counter, foreign exchange
counter, conference hall, kitchens,
dining hall, hostel rooms and mosque.
He said
that bridge at Bemina flood channel would
be completed by next year at an estimated
cost of Rs. 13 crore. Seventy percent
work has been already completed. On its
completion it will save the area from
floods.
Mr. Charak
said that Girder bridge at Naraspora
Budgam would be completed at an estimated
cost of Rs. 1.30 crore within two years.
He further
said that another Girder Bridge at Budgam
near Town hall would be constructed at an
estimated cost of Rs. 1.53 crore. This
bridge would also be completed within two
years time under the double shift system.
The
Minister also inspected the upgradation
work of 2 km. old Barzulla internal road
which is being blacktopped.
Mr. Chark
exhorted upon the engineers accompanying
him during his inspection to ensure the
timely completion of all the development
works.

College of Education celebrates Annual

Education, Kot Bhalwal Jammu, organised a
colourful programme in connection with
the Annual Day function.
On the
occasion, students of the college
presented folk dances which included
Jyoti Kalash, Tibetan dance, Punjabi
dance, Gumar of Rajasthan etc. A skit
Anpad Nari was also presented
by them. The programme also included the
recital of poems composed by the students
themselves.
Director
College Development Council, Jammu
University, Prof Rajiv Gupta, who was
chief guest on the occasion, distributed
prizes among the students who have
excelled in academic and co-curricular
activities.
He assured
all possible support from the University
for further standardisation of education
in the college.
Chairman
of the college, Shiv Kumar Sharma,
highlighted the facilities being provided
by the college to its students.

Mangat
inspects work on Stationery, Govt
Press
Complexes at Sampora

SRINAGAR, Aug 24: Minister for
Transport, ARI, Stationery and Printing,
Mangat Ram Sharma today inspected
on-going construction work on Stationery
and Office Supplies Complexes and Govt.
Press Srinagar at Sampora, here today.
The
Minister accompanied by Director
Stationery and Printing, Abdul Majeed and
other senior officers of the department
informed him that an amount of Rs. 80.50
lakh is being spent on the construction
of Stationery complex through JKPCC.
Mr. Majeed
said that funds for the construction work
of the complex have already been provided
to the construction agency. He said that
the total built on area of the complex is
8500 sft. with the entire ground floor,
specially designed to store the goods
safely.
Mangat Ram
instructed the executing agency to
complete the building by September 15,
2006 so that office and the stores of
stationery and office supplies department
are shifted to the new premises without
further delay. The Minister expressed
satisfaction over the pace of work on the
complex.
Later
Minister inspected newly constructed
Govt. Press Complex, comprising of Store
Block and Factory. He was informed that
the complex would be handed over to the
Govt. Press authorities shortly.

Woman
dies under suspicious circumstances

JAMMU, Aug 24: A woman died under
suspicious circumstances while as two
persons allegedly consumed poisonous
substances in separate incidents.
Police
spokesman said that a womanPooja
Devi, wife of Raj Kumar of Gangyal died
under suspicious circumstances at her
residence. The body was shifted to
Government Medical College Hospital for
post-mortem.
Police has
initiated inquest proceedings under
Section 174 CrPC in this regard.
Meanwhile,
two persons Mohit of Sarwal and Des Raj
of R S Pura allegedly consumed poisonous
substances in separate incidents. They
were rushed to Government Medical College
Hospital when spotted unconscious.
Doctors
immediately provided them stomach wash
treatment followed by other medicare.
Their condition was stated to be out of
danger when reports last came in.
Police is
ascertaining as to whether they
intentionally consumed poison or
swallowed the same mistakenly.
The
spokesman said that two persons were
injured in separate incidents of
assaults. They have been hospitalised and
their condition was stated to be out of
danger.
They were
identified as Chain Singh, son of Fango
Ram of Gajansoo and Pana Nath, son of
Shambu Nath of Udhaywala.

DG
sets being installed to overcome water
supply problem

JAMMU, Aug 24: Minister for PHE
and Irrigation Qazi Mohammad Afzal today
conducted an extensive tour of Jammu city
and inspected on-going works as also the
water supply situation in various areas.
The areas
visited include Durga Nagar, Roop Nagar,
Sharika Vihar, Central Pumping Stations
of Muthi and Bohria. The visit was
undertaken by the Minister on specific
complaints of water scarcity by people
residing in these areas that personally
assess the water situation in these
colonies.
At Muthi,
Mr. Afzal checked the water table by the
scientific devices, which were found
satisfactory. He impressed upon the
engineers to formulate plans for the
augmentation of water in Muthi area.
Regarding
the water scarcity complaints of the
Durga Nagar and Roop Nagar residents, the
Minister directed the engineers to
forward proposals for installation of
D.G. set in these localities to over come
the water shortage problem as also its
short fall. 'It is mainly because of the
electricity snags that are frequent in
these localities that the uninterrupted
water supply to the people is
troublesome', he maintained.
The
development works at Central Pumping
Station Bhoria too were inspected and he
stressed upon the engineers to execute
the work in double shift system for its
speedy and timely execution.
Among
others, Chief Engineer PHE V.K. Goswami,
Superintendent Engineer Mr. V.K. Puri and
local Corporator Mrs. Sheela Handoo were
present on the occasion.
Meanwhile,
the Minister said that Kashmir is
incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits. He
said that Kashmir Pandits played a
pivotal role in the socio-economic
transformation especially of the state
adding that society owes a lot to this
community for giving it teachers of rare
repute.
The
Minister was addressing a gathering at
Battal Ballian at Udhampur during his
week long tour of Jammu Province.
Qazi Afzal
said that due to migration of Kashmiri
Pandits a void has been created in the
culture of Kashmir valley which has a
history of centuries . He appealed them
to return to their homes to re-unite with
Kashmir Muslim brothers and resume their
role in promotion of Kashmir culture,
art, language and above all in the
development of the region.
The
Minister said that a network of
developmental programmes launched in the
state has started yielding satisfactory
results and it is heading towards peace
and progress.

Pedestrian
killed, 17 injured in accidents

JAMMU, Aug 24: A pedestrian was
knocked to death by a speeding vehicle
while as 15 persons were injured in
separate road accidents.
Police
spokesman said that a pedestrian Roshan
Din, son of Noora Lohar of Paristan was
knocked to death by a speeding truck
bearing registration number JK02AA-2427
near Ukhral.
Soon after
the accident, the driver fled from the
spot leaving behind the vehicle. The
critically injured pedestrian was rushed
to hospital where he was pronounced as
brought dead.
Police has
registered a case in this connection and
launched hunt to nab the absconding truck
driver.
In another
accident, 17 persons were injured when a
bus bearing registration number
JK02A-4218 rolled down near Bari
Brahmana. All the injured were rushed to
Government Medical College Hospital and
their condition was stated to be out of
danger.
They have

deputations call on CM

put forth their demands which
includes improvement of power
supply, upgradation of drinking
water supply, modernization of
district hospital Baramulla,
upgradation and renovation of
inner roads of the block,
reopening of match factory,
construction of by-pass in
Baramulla town, setting up of
allopathic dispensary at downtown
Baramulla and construction of
public park at Darhahi Alai
Mohalla Khawaja Sahib.
The
deputation of Boulevard Hotel
Federation led by its President
Zahoor Ahmad also met with the
Chief Minister and put fourth
their demands which also include
widening of Dalgate-Nehru park
road.
The
deputationists assured
wholehearted support from the
people of their respective areas
for making Jammu and Kashmir a
prosperous State on all fronts
envisioned by Chief Minister.
The
Chief Minister gave a patient
hearing to the deputationists and
assured them that their genuine
demands would be looked into.

Two
arrested with charas; rapist,
absconder held

UDHAMPUR, Aug 24:
Police today
arrested two drug-peddlers and
recovered charas from their
possession.
Police
spokesman said that a police team
from Kud Police Station led by
SHO SI Manoj Kumar apprehended
two persons while they were
roaming in the suspicious
condition. From their possession,
police recovered 170 grams of
charas.
They
have been identified as Narayan
Singh, son of Ram Lal and Surjeet
Singh, son of Pyar Singh, both
the residents of Dogra Chowk,
Kud.
A
case under Narcotics Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances Act
(NDPSA) has been registered
against them.
Meanwhile,
Chenani Police arrested a rapist
and an absconder during two
different raids.
The
spokesman said that a police
party from Chenani Police Station
arrested one Manzoor alias Kala,
son of Ayub of village Sarar in
Chenani tehsil, who was wanted in
a rape case.
The
accused had committed rape on a
girlRobena, daughter of
Majeen Din of village Jig in the
recent past and was evading
arrest since then. Today, he was
apprehended after police received
specific information about his
presence in village Sarar.
A
case has already been registered
against him.
Meanwhile,
Chenani Police apprehended an
absconderJagdish Raj, son
of Sant Ram of Talab Tillo, who
was hiding at village Badila in R
S Pura tehsil of Jammu district
since September 2005. The arrests
were made by police under the
supervision of SSP Udhampur
Prithvi Raj Manhas.

CM to
inaugurate
Jashan-e-Jammu
celebrations

connection with the creation of
four new districts in Jammu
region, a week long
Jashan-e-Jammu
celebration is being organised
here and in the newly created
districts and tehsils of the
region.
Chief
Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will
inaugurate the main function
being organised in this
connection at Abhinav Theatre
here on August 26. National
Panthers Party chairman, Prof
Bhim Singh will be the guest of
honour on the occasion.
Addressing
a press conference here today,
convenor of the Jashan-e-Jammu
Council, Panthers Party MLA from
Ramnagar, Harshdev Singh said
that people from districts of
Samba, Reasi, Ramban and Kishtwar
will also be participating in the
inaugural function. The cultural
groups from these four districts
and the people of Jammu in
general, irrespective of their
political affiliations, will be
participating in the programme.
Accompanied
by his Party legislators, Prof
Bhim Singh, Balwant Singh
Mankotia and Faqir Nath, Mr Singh
further disclosed that a function
in connection with the creation
of Majalta tehsil in Ramnagar
will also be organised. He said
it is really an occasion to be
celebrated as decades long
demands of the people of Jammu
regarding implementation of Wazir
Commission report and
Delimitation Commission have been
fulfilled. He said the main
credit for it goes to the NPP
which got these demands included
in the CMP of the coalition
government.
Mr
Singh further said that
constitution of Finance
Commission is yet another
historic decision. It will ensure
equal distribution of funds to
all the three regions and equal
development besides removing
regional imbalance. Responding to
a question regarding suggestion
of BJP not to celebrate the
occasion, Mr Singh said, "
We have also offered them to
participate in the function.
Jammu has achieved something
after long struggle and we think,
its really an occasion to
celebrate," Mr Singh
maintained.

Acqoduct
collapses hitting irrigation
supply
to 400 acres in
Pali village

KATHUA, Aug 24: An Acqoduct
of D -3 A of Main Ravi Canal at
Village Pali collapsed yesterday
night hitting the irrigation
facilities to over 400 acres of
land in the area.
According
to sources the main reason for
the collapse of the acqoduct was
use of sub standard material and
poor quality of design. With the
collapse of this acqoduct over
400 acres of land in the area
will be deprived of irrigation
facilities for indefinite period,
the sources added.
According
to villagers and Lambardar of
Palli village , the Acqoduct at
RD 625 would have collapsed three
years back but it was saved after
putting up sand filled bags
beneath it instead of its
permanent restoration.
They
said that people of the area had
approached several times to the
concerned authorities of the
Department but they failed to pay
any attention to their demand.
The
Villagers in an appeal to the
Minister of Irrigation, PHE and
Flood Control have urged him to
visit the area and have at and on
spot study of the situation.
Meanwhile
people of Pali village also
staged a protest demonstration
against the Ravi Tawi authorities
for using sub standard material
during the construction of the
acqoduct. They demanded a high
level inquiry in the matter and
immediate restoration of
irrigation facilities to the
area.

MIER
organises awareness programme in
disability

Model Institute of
Education and Research (MIER)
organised an awareness cum
training programme in Disability
for parents and family members of
the disabled children.
Objective
of the programme was to train the
parents to get better equipped to
foster the multifaceted
development of their disabled
child.
Prof
Vakil, Coordinator MIER, outlined
the special features of the
awareness cum training package in
disability (mental retardation)
which has been specially designed
and MIER has been approved as the
implementing organisation by RCI
in collaboration with IGNOU to
implement this package. The
package, he informed, is based on
the combination of print material
which is self instructional in
nature and face to face contact
sessions.
Dr
Arun K Gupta, Director MIER,
offered the services of the
expert faculty members of MIER in
the field of disability during
the contact session. He hoped
that the programme in total would
equip the parents for performing
various roles needed for the
disabled children in near future.

given warm farewell

Air Officer
Commanding Jammu and Kashmir, Air
Vice Marshal S K Gahlaut was
given warm farewell at the Air
Force Station here today.
The
AOC arrived here this morning
alongwith his wife on two-day
official visit which coincides
with his farewell from an
eventful and highly distinguished
tenure. He will be taking part in
more than one functions during
his stay.
Commissioned
in the fighter stream of the IAF
on June 12, 1971, Gahlaut has
over 3000 hours accident-free
flying experience. He also
remained AOC of Air Force Station
Srinagar from 2000 to 2002 during

operators

JAMMU, Aug 24: Members
of Chamber of Commerce and
Industry led by its president,
Ram Sahai interacted with the
visiting tour operators from
various major cities of the
country and sought their support
in projecting tourist resorts of
the region.
The
tour operators on the invitation
of the Chief Minister visited
various tourist spots like
Bhadarwah, Sarthal, Sudh Mahadev,
Maan Talai, Patni Top, Sanasar
and pilgrimage tourist spots like
Mata Vaishnodevi and Shiv Khori.
Describing their observations and
experiences, the members of
visiting delegation expressed
that they are astonished why such
beautiful spots have not been
explored and highlighted.
About
some of the places like Seoj
Dhar, Jaai, Sanasar and Shiv
Khori, they said that at these
places they just felt out of the
demand for visiting these areas.
They also wanted that proper
publicity material like
brochures, CDs etc. be
distributed and also importance
of these places be highlighted
through media. It will also help
them in organising packaged tours
to a great extent.
Mr
Sahai assured full cooperation of
the business community from Jammu
region and urged upon the State
Government to develop tourist
resorts and improve roads

Army
organises ex-servicemen rally
SRINAGAR, Aug 24:
The Army today
organised a rally of
ex-servicemen here to apprise
them of various welfare schemes
and to know about their problems.
The
rally, organised under the aegis
of 31 sub area, was held at the
Regulating Centre near Batwara
here.
The
aim of the rally was to interact
with the ex-servicemen and
"Veer Naris (war
widows)" and attend to their
problems.
It
also acted as a platform to
inform them about various welfare
schemes being run by the Army for
them and their dependents.
Various
stalls were set up providing
information and solution to
problems on health schemes,
pension disbursement procedures,
contributory health scheme and
loan facilities by banks.
A
total of 150 ex-servicemen and 14
war widows from the Srinagar
district participated in the

plantation
drive at SOS

Gramin Vikas Sanstha organized a
Jetrofa Plantation program at SOS
Childrens village, Gole
Gujral, near here, today.
The
organization donated 300 plants
of Jetrofa to SOS Childrens
Village. Jetrofa is a unique
plant which produces fruit after
four years of its cultivation and
from the seeds of this plant
diesel is also produced. This
plant has got wide acceptance in
Jharkhand and Uttranchal areas.
Dr
Gulshan Kumar Sharma, president
Jammu Gramin Vikas Sanstha
expressed his earnest desire to
expand this program across the
length and breadth of J&K
State.
He
said his organization has already
launched this program in
different parts of Jammu.

Kohli takes stock of Party
elections in J&K

stock of the organizational
elections and allied matters of
the State BJP, senior National
leader of the Party and its All
India Returning Officer, O P
Kohli chaired a meeting of
district presidents, district
election incharges and other
party activists here today.
According
to a handout issued by the Party,
various aspects connected with
the organizational elections and
strengthening the party were
discussed in detail.
The
membership incharges and
respective district presidents
apprised Mr Kohli about the State
of membership drive in their
districts.
Stressing
the importance of membership
drive, Mr Kohli urged the Party
men to maintain the records. He
reiterated that BJP has
maintained a record of conducting
organizational elections fairly
and transparently.
He
urged the participants to ensure
that membership drive and its
connected activities are
completed by September so that
the Party elections in the State
are over by October 31.

Kargil
festival concludes

KARGIL, Aug 24: Three-day
long Kargil festival which was
organised by the Tourism
department concluded here today.
Chairman,
Ladakh Autonomous Hill
Development Council, Kargil Haji
Asgar Ali Karbalie presided over
the function. While speaking on
the occasion he said that Kargil
has got a good potential for
promotion of Tourism as it has
got natural scenic beauty and
facilities for tracking, rafting
and snow skating etc. but no
proper attention was given to
promote the tourism industry in
the past several years.
He
sought NGOs cooperation for
promotion of tourism industry in
the district and appealed to the
hoteliers, taxi operators and
other related organisations to
provide good hospitality to the
tourists. He sought adequate
funds to develop tourist
infrastructure.
During
festival various colourful
traditional cultural programmes
were organised by different
ethnic groups. Traditional sports
including archery and horse polo
match were also organised. About
sixteen cultural troupes of
different ethnic groups and
villages took part in the
festival. Iranian style
Imambaras, Masjid, Gompas like
Mulbekh Gompa, Mulbekh Chamba and
Karsha, Sani Monasteries in
Zanskar are some of the
attractions of tourists interests
in Kargil.
Others
who present on the occasion
included Executive Councilors,
Councilors, Addl DC, civil and
army officers besides prominent
citizens.

injured in Katra accident

JAMMU, Aug 24: Twelve
persons were injured when a bus
attached with Shri Mata Vaishno
Devi Shrine Board hit a rock at
Baleni Check Post this evening.
The
ill-fated vehicle bearing
registration number JK08A-4479
was on its way from Shrine Board
Store near Ban Ganga to Udhampur
when at Baleni Check Post it met
with an accident reportedly due
to failure of the brakes.
All
the passengers had a miraculous
escape as the vehicle hit rock
adjoining a deep gorge. Deputy
Manager Arjun Singh and JE Sumit
Mahajan despite being injured in
the accident started bringing
other wounded passengers out of
the vehicle.
On
the receipt of information,
Additional SP Katra M L Mehra,
Naib Tehsildar Sanjay Badyal and
SHO Katra S S Sambyal rushed to
the spot and started rescue
operation. All the injured were
shifted to Katra Hospital in
Shrine Board ambulance and police
vehicles.
Seven
of the injured were, later,
shifted to Government Medical
College Hospital and their
condition was stated to be out of
danger.
They
have been identified as Sunita
Devi, Rita Sharma, Shiv Nath,
Gian Chand, Sushma Devi, Sheela,
Surjo Devi and Prakash Singh.
Additional,
Deputy and Assistant CEOs of the
Shrine Board also visited the
spot.

VHP, SDS
demand compensation
for Padder
accident victims

JAMMU, Aug 24: Vishaw
Hindu Parishad (VHP), Sanatan
Dharam Sabha (SDS) and Dharmik
Yuvak Mandal (DYM) have expressed
their profound grief and sorrow
over the loss of 17 precious
lives in yesterdays bus
accident near Darhal in Rajouri.
In
a joint statement, issued here
today, the VHP state chief, Dr
Rama Kant Dubey, SDS president,
Dharni Dhar Sharma and DYM
patron, Sham Chura Mani also
prayed for the immediate recovery
of 30 injured passengers. They
also expressed sympathies with
the bereaved families.
The
leaders of these Hindu
organizations, while appreciating
the Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi
Azad for visiting the accident
site immediately and sanctioning
relief expressed the hope that
the Chief Minister will also
apply the same yardsticks in
favour of the victims families of
Padder accident who are with out
compensation and relief till date
though the accident took place
over five months back.
They
said that in case of Padder
accident the compensation has not
been paid till date in favour of
those victims families whose dead
bodies have been since recovered.
The
statement also took the strong
exception to the style of
functioning of the State
Government and expressed concern
over the reported statements of
Custodian General of the state
asking for forceful eviction of
Hindus from evacuees properties
and allowing no agency or body to
interfere in the Affairs of
Custodian Department.
