SRINAGAR, Oct 30: Ghulam Nabi Azad today submitted his claim of majority support to Governor Lt Gen (Retd) S K Sinha as his ultimate formality to constitute the new Government in the State. Azad proceeded to Raj Bhawan hours after he was elected as leader of the Congress Legislature Party and obtained letters of support from all the coalition partners. Governor is likely to invite him to form the Government on Monday and the swearing-in ceremony, according to Excelsior sources, would be held at the SKICC at 1700 hours on November 2nd. Meanwhile, Muzaffar Hussain Baig was elected as head of the PDP Legislature Party to pave way for his installation as the new Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. Vowing to give good governance and end corruption, Azad asserted that he would go for a drastic downsizing in the Council of Ministers and none of his colleagues would be allowed to have their kith and kin in Personal Sections or subordinate departments in the Government..................more

India, Pak agree to open 5 LoC points from Nov 7
