SRINAGAR, May 11: Two days after Kashmir Police had been alerted about the possibility of a major car blast in Srinagar city, militants today triggered off a massive explosion which left an official of the State Excise Department dead and 50 others wounded in uptown Jawahar Nagar. Over a dozen vehicles and about 40 shops, bank branches and residential houses were damaged in the blast. Hizbul Mujahideen, Al-Nasireen and J&K Islamic Front have claimed responsibility in their separate statements........more
