The meeting will be chaired by NC patriarch, Omar Abdullah who after being re-elected as the Party chief for the second consecutive term today, will visit here tomorrow from Srinagar for the purpose.

Earlier, Mr Abdullah will be given a grand reception by the Partymen near Jammu Airport on his re-election as Party chief and later in the evening he will chair the Party Legislatures’ meet. The meeting will also be addressed by the NC general secretary and senior Party leader Sheikh Nazir Ahmed.

"It will discuss the strategy to be adopted on the floor of the State Assembly during this brief session", said Leader of the Opposition in the House, Abdul Rahim Rather while talking to Excelsior.

He said "so far we have been informed that only Government business is to be transacted in this brief session".

NC Provincial president Kashmir and MLA Anantnag, Dr Mehboob Beg maintained that the Speaker of the Assembly has issued a circular that it will be a special session and no questions will be taken up during the session. But the Party has come to know from certian sources that the Government will take up the Anti-defection Bill in the House to make the law more stringent, he added.

"So we have to adopt the strategy and remain fully prepared to deal with the situation", he disclosed.

However, the NC provincial president Jammu and MLA Marh,Ajay Sadhotra said the Party will raise the issues of public importance forcefully in the House. "We will take a tough stand on shift in Government’s tand on decreasing of employment from 90 percent to 50 percent in private sector.

He said the Government has given an assurance to the Opposition on the floor of the House that 90 percent posts in private sector will be filled up by the people from the state. An order to this effect was also issued on June 30 this year by the Government. But later only four days prior to change of guard on October 28 another order was issued reducing the number to 50 percent .

The NC leader said the industrial package for the State was got sanctioned by Omar Abdullah from Centre and the Government had agreed to provide 90 percent employment to the youth from the State. But in the new order it has been said that 90 percent jobs will be provided to State youth after 2007 which is quite impossible as the industrial package will end by that period, he added.

He said besides the Opposition will raise the issues regarding decreasing the quota of promotions for in service Scheduled Caste employees from eight percent to four percent. "The Party will also oppose the changing of SRO by an Act in this regard", he added.

He said the leaders of Dalit Maha Sabha have approached the NC leadership which has decided to raise the issue in the House. Moreover the problems faced by the people due to power cuts and mindless expansion of Education sector will also be taken up by the Party during this brief session. He said there is dearth of infrastructure in the education sector and many schools are under staff. Even there is one Principal to supervise the functioning of Degree College of Doda and Ramban which is totally impracticable.
