Employees demand
justice
Sir,
Recently the State
Government released 3% D.A in favour of State
Government Employees with effect from 1.1.2005,
after merging 50% D.A in their basic pay. The
action of the Government is positive towards good
governance, but at the same time the Government
has ignored the Public Sector Undertaking
employees, who are also part and parcel of the
Government and are begin run as per the guide
lines prescribed by the Government. The PSU
employees of the State are always being
discriminated in respect of payment of COLA and
other benefits. The Rule of Law demands equal
treatment for each part of the society, and there
should be no discrimination in payment of wages,
whatever be the reasons. As justice demands equal
pay for equal work. The Government is requested
to realise the gravity of the situation and
deliver justice to PSU employees without further
delay, as delayed justice is denied justice.

Ex-servicemen appeal
Sir,
Apropos the news
items publised in the Daily Excelsior on Oct 15,
17 and 24 regarding rescue operations carried out
by the Armymen in quake hit areas of Jammu and
Kashmir. The good work done by the Indian defence
forces while safeguarding the borders has been
appreciated by all and sundry. However, the army
men who were serving at the time of partition and
who took part in the three wars of 1962, 1965,
and 1971 feel discriminated and neglected by the
Government. They feel so because they have not
been brought under 'one Rank one pension' scheme
which envirages may benefits to ex-servicemen.
These handful of
people too have right to a dignified and
honourable life as are their successors.
It is requested to
the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to kindly go
through the problems of these exservicemen and
extend all benefits to them under 'one rank one
pension' scheme.
Yours etc...

Uma's expulsion
Sir,
Once again within
a year, Uma Bharti has been suspended from the
primary membership of the party for her
anti-party activities. The party has asked her to
explain that why she should not be expelled for
anti-party activities within 72 hours. Last year
in November when Ms. Bharti had expressed her
anger in a party meeting before the camera and
made offensive remarks against the party leaders
she was suspended from the party for six years.
Later her suspension was revoked as she expressed
the regret for her misbehavior. This time again
she was suspended by the BJP Central
Parliamentary Board for ''her conduct and
statements''. Her anger is right upto some
extent. The lady from a backward class made her
presence in the national politics with her
sincere efforts. In Madhya Pardesh the BJP
uprooted the Congress with her presence and hard
work in the last elections. In recently concluded
Bihar elections, she has also played a major
role. The BJPs approach to sideline her
from the partys affairs frustrates her a
lot, so she is making such offensive remarks
against the party and its leaders. The party
should have a look at her contributions in the
past in making BJP a big party in the country. If
her suspension will continue for sometime more,
it may cost the party in the future.
Yours etc...
