PRIME MINISTER'S APPEAL

My Fellow Citizens,

People across the Indian subcontinent have felt the pain and anguish of those who have lost their loved ones and thier livelihoods in the earthquake that ravaged Jammu and Kashmir, on both sides of the Line of Control and parts of Pakistan.

Neither nature's fury nor human compassion recognizes political boundaries. It is in our culture to help one's own and one's neighbours in an hour of need.

The Central Government is extending all cooperation and assistance to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir to provide relief and enable rehabilitation. The Government of India has also offered help and assistance to the Government of Pakistan.

II am sure Indian civil society will step forward and contribute to the relief and rehabilitation effort. I appeal to every concerned citizen of our Republic to donate generously to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to help us help those in need.

For and on behalf of the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir State sealed tenders affixed with Rs 2.00 Revenue Stamps are invited for the following work from the reputed firms/concerns with sufficient experience and financial resources dealing in design and civil construction works and having carried out such works for which necessary proof shall have to be produced before issue of the detailed tender Notice/Documents.

Tender documents will be issued by the Executive Engineer PHE Division Akhnoor from 12-12-2005 to 15-12-2005 upto 3 PM and sealed tenders will be received by the worthy Superintending Engineer Hydrolic Circle Jammu upto 20-12-2005 latest by 3 PM and will be opened by him on the same day or any subsequent date convenient to him.

1) Name of work : a) Construction of One No. RCC Over Head Tank of 30,000 gallons capacity (Thirty Thousand gallons) having single compartment and staging height 17 mts. above the ground level (Shaft type) with gallery around the tank complete with lightening conductor, float and scale type level indicator, RCC stairs, G I pipes and pipes fittings upto ground level at Tawa under WSS Kot. (Bearing Capacity = 0.75 Ton/Sft.)

2) Earnest Money : The Earnest Money for Lumsum amount of Rs 18,000/- (Rupees Eighteen Thousand) only be attached with the tender in the shape of CDR/FDR pledged to the official designation of Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle, Jammu.

3) Cost of Tender : Rs 500/- (Rupees Five hundred) documents only non-Documents refundable and to be remitted by Cash/ incorporating M O in favour of the official designation of the undersigned.

4. Last date of : 20-12-2005 upto 3 PM receipt of tenders

5) Time limit for : 6 months (Six months) from the completion of work date of allotment of work

6) Validity period : 90 days (Ninety) from the date of of Tender/offer opening of tender.

Auction Notice

1. Public Auction of various types of condemned vehicles Viz Trucks, Tata-407 (ST/HT), Gypsies, Bus, Tempo Trax, Gypsies (BP) Ambassador Cars, Motorcycle, Jeep, Water Tanker, Contessa, Crane, BP Cars etc, condemned/un-serviceable MT Stores i.e. Tyres, tubes, Batteries, spare parts and melted empty cases/packing material of ammunition held on the stocks of Police Department shall be conducted in the ground of JKAP 7th Bn near Police Transport workshop Channi Himmat Jammu on 6th and 7th December 2005 from 1000 hours on words.

2. The prospective bidders shall have to make security deposit of Rs. 5000/- (five thousand only) (which shall be refundable after the conclusion of auction) in shape of CDR of any Nationalized Bank duly pledged to the SP PTWS Jammu or can also deposit in cash on spot as well for participating in the auction.

3. The condemned vehicles/unserviceable stores shall be auctioned to the highest bidder on ''As is where is basis''. The successful bidder shall have to pay 25% amount of the accepted bid on spot in cash and shall have to pay the remaining amount in cash within fifteen days after the conclusion of auction, failing which 15% per annum will be charged as penalty on the total accepted bid amount up to two months and thereafter the security deposit and 25% of bid amount will stand forfeited.

4. The successful bidder shall have to lift the auctioned vehicles/stores within fifteen days positively at his own cost, after which the Department shall not be responsible for the watch and ward of the auctioned vehicles. Sales tax and other taxes, surcharges if any shall be charged extras as applicable under rules.

5. The Chairman of the auction committee reserves the right to accept or reject any bid without assigning any reasons and his decision shall be final and binding in all matters relating to the auction.

6. Auction will be conducted by Govt. auctioneer in presence of auction committee.

7. Other conditions if any will be announced before conducting the auction by the Govt. Auctioneer or by the Chairman of the Auction Committee on spot as well.
