National Mining Co LIC part of an expanding group in the Sultanate of Oman with diversified operations in the energy sector, is urgently seeking the following Internationally experienced professionals for key roles as part of the core management team currently an open pit copper mine and concentrator operation in Northern Oman.

Operations Manager

Minimum 15-20 yers post-qualification exprerience in the mining Industry including open pit and underground operations, the treatment of metal ores and including at least 2 years in a similar managerial capacity preferably in a base metals (copper) operation. Experience in Project Management of building or operating a concentrator tratment plant and in the sale of concentrate or Smelter negotiations would be a deinite advantage. Selected individual will report directly to the General Manager and be responsible for all mining ore processing and associated operations based in Northern Oman.

Mine Manager

Minimum 10 years post-qualification mining experience out of which at least 2 years of recent operational management in the similar capacity preferably in an open pit gold or base metal (copper) operation. Selected individual needs to closely supervise the daily operations of contract mining ore haulage and associated operations based on site in Northern Oman and will report to the Operations Manager.

Ideal candidates will have at least a Bachelors degree in Mining or Metallurgy with a first class Mine Managers certificate or equivalent certification, Previous offshore experience particularly in the Asian Region would be favourably viewed as would experience in :

* Contract Management negotiaion and contractor supervision.

* Development and implementation of HSE programs.

* Development of appropriate Training and Education programs.

* Development and maintenance of good relations with Government Departments etc.

The Operations Manager and the Mine Manager will be responsible for all day-to-day technical aspects of the project and will be required to achieve and maintain a high performance from the contractor and staff within the approved guidelines and targets jointly develped with the General Manager.

The operations are located in a secure coastal area with excellent infrastructure and services for expatriates, International airpots are located within several hours drive of the site.
