Work for improving Indo-Pak ties

Sir,

Every ruler in Pakistan has given first preference to the likings of Mullas but no doubt Parvez Musharraf is a exception as he is a military man & not a politician. It is excepted that he may bring some reform in Pak society & improve relations with India.

Under the leadership of former India PM, the two countries got an opportunity to come forward honestly to solve the issues bilaterly without any third party mediation. It is high time for both the countries to continue the dialogue process to solve the pending issues. In this era of globalization where boarder & boundaries are no longer hurdles and are vanishing slowly & slowly it is a time to dismantle the bloody wall of hatred between India & Pakistan which depict the historical blunder of division of India & Pakistan on name of religion.

Pakistan has always been a headache for Indian Muslims & particularly the people of Jammu & Kashmir. When India wants people to people contacts, allowing senior citizens, academicians, journalists, professors & research scholars by relaxing visa measures why Pakistan projects Kashmir before any solution to the problems. People in actual want azadi from the hurdles which keep them aloof from meeting to their relatives in Pak. If Pakistan shows flexibility on the same footage as India do, people can establish relation with their relatives held up in PoK so to say Azad Kashmir. What sort of Azad Kashmir, even the people in different jails of India are more free to express their ideas then the PM of PoK. If he is the head of Kashmir what is his say in the matter relating to Kashmir. Even he is not free to move his tongue in his buccal cavity.

India as well as Pakistan best know that only possible solution to Kashmir issue is turning LoC into International Border & relaxing viasa measures for free movement of people of both Kashmiris. But who is there to break the ice in this direction ? Surely the people of India & Pakistan & not the Govts of both countries. If they press their govts in this direction, who will be the hurdle, the tottering Hurriyat Conference & Jehadi contractor of Pakistan. Their all luxeries, reputation, prestige, future of their children are cooked on the hearth of burning Kashmir, rest all citizens of both countries want improvement in trade, visa measures, academic, medical & technological fields. Even most of educated people will like the fall of Indo-Pak border like wall of Berlin & not the wall of Israel at this juncture.

Parvez Musharraf no doubt is a refined personality, he must bring some reform in Pak society. Let the young students peep out of religious studies. The subjects like International politics, world history, geography, economics & science subjects at priority should be introduced in schools & madrasas rather than study of religious books & distorted history of India & Pakistan. Let there be exchange of history books & literature between the two countries as they share common history. Pakistan should do something independently rather than dancing on tune of America.

Political economy

Sir,

The print media has done a great job by highlighting the proceeds of this seminar on the political economy in Jammu University, conspicuously capturing the attention of Finance Minister as a chief guest throwing light on various aspects of the state, castigating the role of Central Government, their undue interference in state administration, contradicting with the democratic fabric and special status of the state leaves no room for two opinion.

It is true that Centre has succeeded in the coronation of monarchy in the State that suited to their whims and wishes. It is also true that they succeeded in their malicious mechanism through their agents. Paradoxically the agents were none else than Kashmiris. Before passing the buck, let us not forget every man has his fault and honesty is his.

As regards political economy we have to strain it meticulously. Politics and economics are closely knitted with each other and more closer in these days. All political events have their roots in economic causes. It is economics that agitate us to solve the problem of poverty and other socio-economic problems. Welfare of the State is contingent upon the economic viability.

Our state is passing through political crisis where we feed the hungry on angry belly. Anger supplies arms. It will not be unrealistic, in the piquant situation and acute crises that has enveloped the state to disasssociate politics from economics in the given circumstances. Application of political solution is the paramount need that alone can give economic vitality to the health of the state now and for future. It is only contentment of mind which is a continuous feast. You can not achieve peace with money or by force. It is to be obtained only through understandings that is political solution for the problems.

In the backdrop of the fact and circumstances we need to evolve a political solution first to stamp out the political crisis in the State for the delivery of economic justice and economic security.

Yours etc...
