Discrimination with Jammuites

Sir,

Eversince independence the Jammu province has been treated as colony of Kashmiris. Area and population of Jammu has been more than that of Kashmir, but number of Assembly seats was kept higher for Kashmir than Jammu, so as to keep C M always from Kashmir.

Every health resort of Kashmir is linked by the roads. But most of the health resorts of Jammu have been ignored e.g health resorts of Bhadherwah, Bani, Basohli Sarthal (Kathua) Kishtwar, Poonch etc.

The word Jammu stands next to Kashmir although in writing it is Jammu and Kashmir State. Even most of Indians in south and west region of the country talk about Kashmir and consider Jammu as a small part inside Kashmir. If we talk of a separate Jammu state it is always opposed by Kashmiris. As they have to oppose it because it will finish their domination. Almost 95 percent population of Jammu is in favour of a separate Jammu state because of discrimination in services, promotions, admissions to professional colleges and allotment of funds and assembly seats.

Irfan in action

Sir,

Why didn't the Pakistani coach Javed Miandad pick a few Pakistani Irfan Pathans for the one dayers when he had arrogantly asserted that Irfan Pathans are available in the every street corner of Pakistan? Irfan will one day become the Wasim Akram of India and also a genuine all rounder (God willing).

If Irfan had been included in the playing 11 in place of Zaheer (Khan) we might've won the one day series 4-1. Saurav committed the greatest blunder by not including Irfan for the first two matches. Now he is playing in the first match, he has shown his mettle.

Erratic power supply in Muthi

Sir,

I on behalf of the residents of Muthi want to draw your kind attention towards the irregular and untimely power cuts in our village. We have all the dues cleared inspite of that there is no schedule of power cuts. Once the light is off we do not know when would it come back. Now for several days light is off during nights. It is examination time. Most of the exams. are still on and this is the issue of concern for the students as well as for their parents, old age people find it difficult to bear heat without light. Hence we believe that you would pay attention and address our genuine grievances.

Our demand is that there should be no power cuts and if any, it should be minimum, scheduled are not during nights. We are sure that proper attention would be paid towards our demand and properly redressed.

Power chase

Sir,

I power chase of NDA through yatras may or may not be through in its objective, but for the next tenancy, it will not be a win to rupee chase unless transparency is foresigted, road mapped and executed corrupt free.

In power saddle, there is no hassle to be on score board through personality projection by signboards and glowsigns of achievements, tagged with Ministers. The hard earned ''Tax Rupees" paid by employees is on set of a "Big Blaze" and "No Check". The Election Commission should enforce strict taboo. Our democracy largely drawn from the down trodden is unable to read in between the lines. India shining plank with corterie of cine stars entering the parties each day may be of a little value to space "Future India".

The right thinkers and planners have been kept at a distance.

Cover the manholes

Sir,

I would like to draw the kind attention of the authorities concerned towards the problem of some open manholes in the Shakti Nagar market which is quite dangerous and risk prone. The manhole particularly in front of the entrance of lane number ten and the one in front of the Verma medical shop are very risky and seem virtual death trap both for the pedestrians as well as for the drivers of the two wheelers particularly during night hours. It has been observed that after some time, the cover of the manholes made of grills gets broken, becomes unserviceable and thus this problem becomes almost recurrent. The problem needs to be solved on a permanent basis. Besides, the smooth and unhindered access of the public to the market has also hampered due to the newly laid down water supply pipeline which is running through the road itself. The affected portion of the road is yet to be metalled causing the people a lot of inconvenience.

It is, therefore, requested to the authorities concerned to kindly look into the aforesaid problems are have the open manholes covered at the earliest besides getting the affected portion of the road metalled soon so as to avert any mishap which could otherwise be possible due to aforesaid reasons. And also the market which is presently not looking neat and tidy could attain its former look.
