Discrimination with Jammu

Reference may be made to the letter of Dr. D C Sharma published in DE dated 6th October, 03. In fact the present State Government is following the policies formulated by the predecessor governments and doing nothing new. However, a good gesture for people of Jammu region is the announcement for opening wine shops in every nook and corner of the Jammu region at the cost of Kashmir valley. These shops when made functional will provide a great relief to the people, especially the future generation by making them habitual of drunkards as also economically backward in the long run and there will be no body able to raise voice against any discrimination or demand separate statehood for Jammu.

This is very important for the leaders who belong to Congress (I) in the present Government headed by Mufti Mohd Sayeed. There is a question of future of Congress (I) leaders. It is well known fact to the Congress leaders that they have been elected by voters of Jammu region. In case they do not do something for Jammu people, today, then in the future election they have to face defeat as the today voter is very wise he/she gives vote to a reliable and responsible leader who deserves it otherwise voter will elect such leaders who are not discharging their responsibility with good results.

In view of the above facts, I would like to request Mr. Gulam Nabi Azad, General Secretary of Congress party to advise his leaders belonging to Jammu region to work for the people so that the Congress party may earn laurels and the confidence of the Jammu region people otherwise there is every chance to face the defeat in the future election.

Politics in educational field

Sir,

Educational institutions like schools; colleges etc. are the wrong host of politics. But it is spreading in such institutions day by day. Students make their separate unions and associations and elected their head. In schools and college Election for CR (class representative) and for the President are held and with it the war between different student's union begin. They adopt the same procedure as the national political parties do. Instead of giving interest to their study' they start election campaign for their party or union. They begin pasting posters on the walls along with the photograph of their head. They organize and holds meetings. Students spend a lot of money over this work and also waste their precious time. Members of the party give speeches in and outside the classes. Sometimes, they closes the class, this effects the study of those students who wants to get good marks in the examination. Some members give warning to students that if they will not give vote in favor of their party, they will see them latter. It sometimes leads to the causes of disputes among students and create a lot of ill-will in the holy place for learning. When teachers try to stop them then they start misbehaving with teachers and sometime call for strike.

The learning atmosphere of the schools and colleges turn into ill-will and unpleasant atmosphere. There is pollution of politics all over. When one is elected Cr. or President in the schools and colleges, it is often noticed that he declare himself 'supreme'. He also attends the classes very less and in this way he can do nothing for the sake of other students. Students also avoid to take the help of such head.

Students should have responsible mind and think that schools and colleges are the place for learning, from where they grow upward and serve the society in a good manner. If any student has any kind of problem, he state way go to their teachers and ask about it, this time other students can also help that student. Teachers should also have their good attitude towards the students and they should help and care them at every step because they better now that they are the future of the country. Students should also be respectful towards the teachers. They shouldn't waste their precious time in this unnecessarily things and take full interest to their study. They should try to make peaceful & pious atmosphere in educational institutions where they acquire knowledge, so that they can make their future bright.
