Iraqis
in agony
Sir,
The war
has left behind stress and trauma among
the people of Iraq. The war has led only
to destruction, casualties and also
fulfilled the hunger of warmongers. For
many surviving the challenges of war can
be rewarding, maturing and growth
promoting, but for some, the demands,
stressors and conflicts of participation
in war can also be traumatizing,
spiritually and morally devastating, and
transformative in potentially damaging
ways the impact of which can be manifest
across the life span.
People of
Iraq are still in a state of shock and
the war on Iraq has influenced terror on
people who are already suffering after
the gulf war. During the war almost one
million people left on foot for the
border of Iran. They came from places
like Najaf, Kerbala, Kufa, and Basra.
They fled from persecution and war,
leaving behind every thing they
possessed. They endured all kinds of
destruction that war inevitably brings to
families including chemical bombing. The
eyes of children still reveal the
desperate plea of helplessness. It may
take 25 years to recover from 25 days of
conflict and economic misrule and
mismanagement.
America
using the sword "war on terror"
has simply left Iraq in a devastating
condition with a dark future. Iraqis are
glad that Saddam is gone but are
depressed about their future. They say,
"Our freedom has no taste".
America just wanted control over the oil
reserves in Iraq for which he killed so
many innocent people. Iraq was not a
particularly happy place before war and
it is less happy now that one can
imagine.
In short
today Iraq is a devastating country that
hasn't a chance to rebuild. Moreover
America has won the war but peace may be
elusive. Through out the world people
have grave doubts about the legitimacy of
the US led was a civilian deaths mount.
The war only leads to bloodshed, hatred
and increased anxieties.
Yours
etc...
