counter insurgent leader, his elder son
Khurshid Ahmed Parray has vowed to take
the fight, spearheaded by his father
against Pakistan sponsored militancy for
more than a decade in the Kashmir valley,

jawans of Border Security Force
were killed and two sustained
serious injuries when militants
today destroyed a culvert in a
powerful IED blast at Ganeshpora
on Anantnag-Pahalgam road. The
famous hill station got cut off
from the district headquarters.
In other gunbattles security
forces have killed at least six
militants across Kashmir valley

Mubarak Mandi may be
declared protected site

New Delhi, Oct 7: The historic
Mubarak Mandi complex, which houses the
palaces of the erstwhile Dogra monarchy,
may soon be declared a protected
monument. The Centre has asked the State
Government to examine the project and
send a formal proposal in this regard. It
was also decided to develop it as a
heritage site to promote tourism along
with Awantipur, Martand and
