Corruption
still alive
Sir,
In the
last one week, we got to know about two
such cases which directly pose a question
in our minds and that is where are we
leading towards?
The first
case of the charges of bribery against
first class cricketer Abhijit Kale.
Although the charges are yet to be
proved, though the match finding scandals
etc. have somewhere really influenced the
minds of the people and they have lost
their trust over this internationally
accepted game. After the 1999 world cup
match fining scandals, the whole image of
the game was changed. But today, when
people gradually have again somewhere
regained their trust, a fresh scandal has
emerged.
The second
case of the leakage of the CAT papers.
CAT exams. for IIMs are renowned all over
the world. The big foreign companies
recruit even the average students of
IIMs, what to talk of the brilliant ones,
considering them as the most intelligent
and capable as they have reached to this
level after passing out the world's one
of the most toughest tests. But this
years leakage of paper have taken away
the faith of not only the students who
have appeared in the exam. but also of
the other people. Students put their
heart and soul for this paper for one or
two years. But if this is the result,
then the question is where are we
standing? Who wants to get the admission
in these Pioneer Institutions? Is the
name of the Institution is really
something that matters? Not only the CAT
but with this scandal, I think, the
concept of competitions prove out to be
complete failure in our systems.
With both
these cases, we can easily conclude that
even in the 21st century we are still in
the hold of this evil monster called
corruption, which if not controlled at
this very moment, will destroy our nation
from its very bad examples and effects.
Yours
etc...
