‘We are still at Doklam, but at safe distance’: Rawat

BELAGAVI: Stating that there was still time left for India and China armies to withdraw from disputed Doklam border, Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said the two armies had kept their presence, but at a ‘safe distance’.

Speaking to reporters afer presenting President’s Colours to two battalions of the Maratha Light Infantry-23 MLI and 24 MLI at Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Center (MLIRC) premises here, he said the troops of the rival armies were very much present at the disputed border, but the situation was peaceful.

General Rawat, clarifying on the recent media reports relating to withdrawing of army from Doklam, said both People’s Liberation Army (PLA- China) and Indian Army have still stationed troops in Doklam area and maintaining reasonable distance. (AGENCIES)
