DODA, July 21: Wadi-e-Kashmir Cricket Club scripted a convincing win over Manhas Cricket Club (MCC) by 5 wickets in the ongoing All India 14th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2018 being played at Sports Stadium, here today.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by 10 Rashtriya Rifles Unit Doda and J&K Bank.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, MCC scored 163 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Sandeep Bali was the top scorer with 34 runs, while Surinder contributed 33 runs to the total. For Wadi-e-Kashmir, Irfan-ul-Haq scalped 4 wickets while Omar picked 2 wickets.
In reply, while chasing down the target of 164 runs, Wadi-e-Kashmir managed to score the runs in just 16.2 overs for the loss of 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Khalid played a brilliant innings of 51 runs while Asif Bakshi contributed 50 runs for his team. For MCC, Surinder grabbed 2 wickets while Nikhal Kotwal and Imran Malik shared one wicket each.
For his best performance, Khalid of Wadi-e-Kashmir was adjudged as the man of the match who was given prize by Patron YSCC Manzoor Ahmed Batt and Chief Organizer Gufran Tournament Irfan Ali Butt.
The match was officiated by Yousuf Raza and Ifroz Rather as Umpires, while Sandeep Kaushik was the Scorer.
