This is in reference to Shiv Kumar Padha’s write-up in DE followed by letter of Col Mohan Singh titled as “Detach Kandi Belt”.
In this connection, it is further submitted that not only Basohli Assembly Constituency but many others in Jammu region are carved out on vote bank politics. Few examples are like Chenani Constituency made to spread into three distinct regions like Pancheri, Ghoradi and Chenani. It looks that Panchari which is eligible to be one constituency has been cut into three pieces and attached with Reasi, Udhampur and Chenani. So the identity of Panchari region has been finished. Secondly see to Ramnagar constituency which is like South Pole to North Pole. It can have three independent constituencies.
See to Nagrota, Paddar and many more such of the constituencies where it is very much clear that oneness and identity of a region has been ignored. The criteria for fixation of area of Assembly Constituency should be same for the entire state with equal number of population and not that we divide one entity Sainik Colony into two or many constituencies only for the sake of vote bank. Now every individual and group of people is capable and aware enough to see through the things even if they are secret. Those who have created these hurdles and those who are present day duty holders should respect public sentiments in the present times of awareness.
