JAMMU, Oct 20: As a socially responsible organization, it is a constant endeavour by Vodafone to come up with initiatives which serve the society. In line with this practice, Vodafone J&K Circle today conducted Woollen Donation Camp “Sardi Ka Taufa” at Balgram in Jammu and Athrout in Srinagar.
At the camp, Vodafone handed over new and quality woolen clothing including blankets, jackets, caps, gloves etc to the NGO’s who will ensure that these are provided to underprivileged children.
This is an effort by Vodafone to extend a loving and helping hand to these children and ensuring that they are adequately equipped to fight the biting cold during the winter season.
In this regard, Vodafone J&K Circle conducted a special sale from October 16 to October 19 in Jammu and Srinagar for Vodafone employees. During the sale, Vodafone employees bought new woolen cloths which they then donated for the underprivileged children.
Vodafone tied-up with local retailers for procuring these woolen cloths so that the objective of equipping underprivileged children adequately to fight the chilling winter cold is actually met. Conducted under Vodafone’s ‘Gift-a-Smile’ umbrella, the initiative is sure to bring smiles on the faces of these children and make them feel loved.
Sharing his thoughts on this noble initiative, Pushpinder S Gujral, Business Head, J&K, Punjab, and HP, Vodafone India said, “As a people-centric organisation, Vodafone always works towards being a meaningful member of the society and tries to contribute in its development. While we cannot change the fact that there are many children who are underprivileged, however we at Vodafone always try to do our best to help these children and bring a smile on their faces and happiness in their lives. For this we undertake various socially relevant initiatives from time to time. The ‘Sardi Ka Taufa’ held today was another such effort in this regard and we will continue coming up with such initiatives in the future as well”.
