VKPS felicitates young daughters of J&K for excellence in different fields

JAMMU, Dec 28: Vishwa Kashmiri Pandit Samaj (VKPS) today held a programme to felicitate 5 young daughters of J&K for their excellence in the fields of sports, fine arts and glamour world.
Speaking on the occasion, Convenor of VKPS Kiran Wattal said that such events are necessary and  would be held in future as well as they provide encouragement to the youth to excel in different fields of life. He sought support and cooperation of the people in developing and devising such facilities that would take youth forward in curricular and non-curricular.
The function was presided over by renowned musician Pandit Bajan Sopori with Kuldeep Khoda as chief guest and Prof Ashok Aima, BS Salathia, Zorawar Singh, Dr Agnishekhar, Sushil Pandit and Dr Ajay Chrangoo as guests of honour.
While speaking on the occasion, they advised the youth to be focused on their goals to achieve further heights in life.
Those who were awarded included Anisha Safaya, Kavya Kouhar, Kashyap Neha Pandita, Asvina Bhatt and Tanishya Tiku.
Anisha Safaya, who was brought up in Jammu in a middle class family has achieved the distinction of being Mrs India Universe for the year 2017. Besides, she has also got awards in Inter-College Debates and fashion shows from the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Haryana. With firm resilience and dedication she rose to the Vice President of one of the Worlds leading investment bank.
Other young girls belonging to J&K also achieved distinction in their respective fields of administration, sports and music are Kashyap Neha Pandita, Kavya Kochar, Asvina Bhatt and Tanishya Tiku.
Neha, who has scripted history not only by reversing narrative from “Package Back to Power” for generation next of Kashmiri Pandits, is coming from migrant camp to crack KAS exam with distinction. Another young girl Kavya Kouchar has achieved Gold medals in Shooting Championship continuously from 2015-2017. Asvina Bhatt of 8th class has won Gold medal in Sambo Championship and is likely to take part in Asia-Samboo Championship outside India. Multi-dimensional achievements has gone to the credit of Tanishya Tiku for getting 3 Gold medals in Wushu, 1 Gold medal in Boxing, 1 in Soccer and 2 medals in Music.
Among others present were MK Jalali, Dr Indu Koul, Prof AN Sadhu, Prof BL Zuthi, Dr RL Dhar, PK Zalpuri, Brijnath Betab, BL Saraf, Muarji Koul, Dr Chand Narayan Tiku, Dr TK Bhat, Dr Gautam Goel, Dr Yudvir Gupta, Manish Gupta , Kuldeep Luthra, Rakesh Khajuria, MK Wattal and Bharat Mahaldar.
The program was anchored by Prof BindyaTiku and vote of thanks was presented by Pintoo ji.
