Vishwakarma Day celebrated with enthusiasm, religious fervour

JAMMU, Nov 8: In connection with the Vishwakarma Day celebrations, impressive programmes were organised with religious fervour and gaiety, in various Vishwakarma Temples located at Khour, Mishriwala, Muthi, New Plot, Gurha Bakshi Nagar, Bhagwati Nagar, Panjbakhtar Road, Digiana, Udhampur, Katra, Reasi, Jyotipuram, Bari Brahmana, Sainik Colony, Vijaypur, Billawar, Kathua, Hira Nagar, Samba, RS Pura and other parts of the region.
A large number of people from all sections of society including women and children belonging to local areas gathered to have blessings of Lord Vishwakarma. The temples at all these locations were specially decorated on the eve of Vishwakarma Day and Havan and Bhajan Kirtan were organised there. Heavy rush of devotees was seen since early in the morning at these religious places.

In New Plot, Jammu the function was organised by Ram Lal (Principal), Mahinder Paul and Joginder Angotra with the support of other members.
At Muthi the program was supervised by Girdhari Lal, at Akhnoor it was organised in the supervision of Nek Ram (Sarpanch). Similarly at Khour, the program was held under the chairmanship of Rashpal Singh Verma (Unit president).
Shashi Verma, president of the Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha J&K along with his associates visited many of these places and greeted the people. He said that there is deep faith in Lord Vishwakarma from all sections of society, especially those associated with industry and technical jobs. He said Lord Vishwakarma has created this beautiful world with scientific wonders and we are enjoying the comforts today. He appealed the masses to worship this God of Architect everyday as we are living in the age of technology.
He reiterated the demand of a “Gazetted Holiday” on Vishwakarma Day. He explained that a virtual holiday is already prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir on Vishwakarma Day and Govt should not take much time to recognise it officially. Everyone including industrialists, brick kilns, building material, political circles, mechanics, labour and artists, PHE, observe an undeclared holiday on Vishwakarma Day.
Rampal Chargotra and Gurmukh Singh at Digiana stated that technology is fast changing and peoples faith towards Lord of engineering is increasing day by day. They congratulated the people of J&K on this sacred occasion.
At Udhampur, long queue was seen and the function was organised by the temple committee headed by Radhey Sham Manhas and Vijay Kumar Manhas. At Katra, the function was arranged by Raj Kumar Verma and others.
Besides these , such Pooja was also held in various industrial complexes/ machine units and tools were worshipped and sweets distributed. All workers including labour class, observed complete closure of their workshops and enjoyed this day as a day of their God.
Vishavkarma Temple Committee, Mishriwalla (Akhnoor Road) also organised a function in this connection under the leadership of Parshoram Chargotra, where BJP MP, Shamsher Singh Manhas was the chief guest while MLA March Sukhnandan Choudhary guest of honour. A large number of people from all walks of lives participated in the programme, where special prayers were held to mark the occasion. 15 persons were also felicitated during function.
To celebrate the Vishwakarma Day J&K Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan performed it’s musical play “VISHWAKARMA” in collaboration with JK Bhoomi Human Welfare Society & Sangam True Art Production at it’s office compound, Durga Bhawan, Janipur Jammu. The play was written and directed by ML Dogra , renowned writer and director, former Regional Director of Song and Drama Division. Ministry of Information Broadcasting, Government of India.
The program was inaugurated by ML Kalotra , Retd Supt Engineer PDD J&K Govt while JK Koul, writer , actor, producer director TV & Films presided over the function . May artists and others were present on the occasion. The chief guest lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness colourful programmes . Earlier, Dogra threw light on the importance of Vishavkarama Day.
Trinetra Dhari  Shiv Shamboo Seva Dal Parade Jammu celebrates Lord Vishawkarma Day with religious fervour. On the occasion, special programme was organized at Parade in which MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta was the chief guest. The programme was organized under the leadership of president of Seva Dal Mandeep Sharma and chief patron of Seva Dal Anubhav Suri. On the occasion Pandits performs Puja of Bhagwan Shri Vishawkarma.
Department of Agriculture, Jammu observed Vishawkarma Day celebrations here today at Government Agriculture Workshop, Jammu. Hari Krishan Razdan, Director of Agriculture, Jammu, was the chief guest of the occasion who addressed the concerned workers, employees and officers. Razdan said that the department is getting a very good response from the farmer’s field regarding results of different Agriculture machines like Paddy Drum seeder, Seed-cum –Fertilizer Drills, Reaper-cum-Binders, Power Weeders and Diesel Hill Ploughs being popularized under different Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS). He said that Agriculture mechanization is one of the key interventions aimed at doubling the income of farmers by 2022.
Razdan also attended the Vishavkarma Day prayers at Seed Processing Unit where cleaning, grading and bagging of different seeds is being done by different machines. He also interacted with the workers and staff of these units to know about their problems and other operational difficulties.
KS Sambyal, Joint Director Agriculture (Inputs), Jammu, Jagmohan Bhat, Deputy Director (Central), Jammu, Arvinder Singh Reen, PDO, Jammu, Kuldeep Dhar, SMS Engineering, Uttam Chand, president, J & K Agriculture Employees Association and other senior officers of the department also attended the programme.
Govt ITI Kathua, celebrated Vishwakarma Day also known as Vishwakarma Jayanti under the supervision of Naresh Singh, Superintendent ITI Kathua. This day is a celebration for Lord Vishwakarma, a Hindu God, the divine architect. He is considered as swayambhu, creator of the world and is also called as divine carpenter mentioned in Rig Veda. The staff and students of the Institute worshiped Lord Vishwakarma by cleaning & performing the Puja of Tools, Equipments & Machines used for training programme in all trades by showering flowers on the statue of Lord Vishawkarma at a common place in ITI Campus.
