Vishal Stars stay alive in 7-Matches New Year Cricket Series

JAMMU, Jan 13: Registering a thrilling last-ball win over Jammu Rising Stars, Vishal Rising Stars stayed alive in the ongoing 7-Matches New Year Cricket Series for junior cricketers, being organized by Vishal Cricket Club, Jammu, under the supervision of Rajesh Gill, Former Ranji Trophy Player at Parade Ground, here.
The Series is being held with an objective to provide platform to the budding cricketers to showcase their hidden talent and sharpen their skills, to be ready for bigger events.
Earlier, batting first, Jammu Rising Stars scored a paltry total 86 runs in the stipulated 18 overs. Sachin top scored with 25 runs, while Abay Tondon and Rohan Gill contributed 16 and 14 runs to the total respectively.
For Vishal Rising Stars, Praful Dhar took 2 wickets,  while Amit, Ashim Nanda, Aditpal Singh, Nalin and Agastaya shared 1 wicket each.
Vishal Rising Stars, in reply achieved the target on the last ball of the match by losing 8 wickets, thus won the match by 2 wickets. Surya (25) and Aditpal (21) were the main scorers. Umar Sadiq and Dhruv Gupta took 3 wickets each, while Abhay took 2 wickets. Aditpal was adjudged as man of the match for scoring 21 runs and taking 1 wicket.
The fifth match of the series will be played tomorrow at 9.30 am.
The match was officiated by Sandeep, Sanjay and Vinod.
