JAMMU, Nov 19: Vishal Cricket Club and Road Safety XI registered wins and qualified for the quarterfinals stage in the ongoing 7th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Cup, being organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with Simula Cricket Club, KC Sports Club and Vishal Cricket Club at Parade Ground, here today.
In today’s matches, Suresh Sharma CPO CID Jammu was the chief guest whereas BD Sharma DySP CID and Yogesh Bamba Senior PO CID Jammu were the guests of honour.
In the first match, Vishal Cricket Club defeated Sparton Cricket Club by 83 runs.
Batting first, Vishal Cricket Club scored 162 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Lakhan scored unbeaten century in 60 balls with four sixes and 11 boundaries, while Rohan Gill chipped in 31 runs in 31 balls and Jagdeshwer Singh made 13 runs.
From bowling side, Kartik, Ragav and Parul took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Sparton Cricket Club failed to chase the target and bundled out at paltry 79 runs in 15.3 overs for the loss of all wickets thus lost the match by 83 runs. Ragav scored 15 runs, Parul made 12 runs and Karan made 11 runs.
For Vishal Cricket Club, Sandesh took 2 wickets while Ramandeep Singh, Rohit and Asif scalped 1 wicket each. Lakhan was adjudged as Man of the Match.
In another match, Road Safety XI defeated Lions Club by 51 runs.
Batting first, Road Safety XI scored 171 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Hinan Malik chipped in 63 runs, while Lada scored 43 runs and Ishtiaq Elahi made 24 runs.
From bowling side, Rahul, Sunny, Gourav and Rupesh took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Lions Club could not chase the target and managed to score 120 runs in 19 overs for the loss of all wickets thus lost the match by 51 runs. Rohit made 44 runs and Vineet scored 30 runs.
For Road Safety XI, Irshad took 3 wickets, while RK Bhat and Majid took 2 wickets each and Dinesh took 1 wicket.
Hinan Malik was adjudged as Man of the Match for his brilliant performance.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Kumar, Sanju and Vijay.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Kashmir Happenings XI will clash with Cant Cricket Club and Lakshmi Cricket Club will lock horns with Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor.
