Villages without water supply for 3 months

UDHAMPUR, Jan 31:  Several remote villages of Udhampur district are without drinking water supply for the last three month.
According to the locals, a single pipeline has been installed by PHE Department for supply to the villages namely Kousal, Nali Nikka, Bai, Suthar, Jangal, Patti etc, having near about 3000 population. This pipeline is lying damaged for the last three months with the result that there has been no supply of drinking water to these villages.
We have to travel for 2 -3 km to fetch drinking water and despite repeated requests to the PHE authorities, there has been no action to repair the damaged pipe, the villagers rued
The villagers urged the PHE Minister to personally look into the matter and direct concerned authorities to install new pipelines for providing hassle free supply of safe drinking water these villages at an earliest.
They also threatened that a massive agitation shall be launched against State Government and district administration for their genuine demands.
