Villages continue to remain cut off after washing away of road

UDHAMPUR, Sept 13:  Hundreds  of inhabitants of village Chore Motto and adjoining hamlets continue to remain cut off from mainland for the last one month due to landslide and washing away of road  at village Baran,  about 4 km from Dhar Road at village Lakhari (Kamdhana).
Villagers of Chore Motto, Chore Panjian, Gahar, Jofar, Marta and Lakhari are suffering because of no repair of the road, which got washed away following heavy rains and landslide last month.
Students of about nine Primary School and three Middle Schools are forced to travel about 13 km for attending their classes because of worst condition of the road, which is only surface link for them to Tehsil headquarters Majalta.
The villagers alleged that no action was taken by the District administration, PWD and PMGSY authorities to repaired the damaged road and improve its condition.
The aggrieved villagers of Chore Motto and adjoining area also held a protest demonstration today to highlight their plight.  Raising  slogans against the District administration PWD and  PMGSY authorities, they threatened to gherao the offices of these establishments.
