UDHAMPUR, Jan 23: Locals of four Panchayats, Shatrari, Majori, Knsal Blota and Siya Mari in tehsil Basantgarh, held a joint protest demonstration against Power Development Department (PDD) and Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department for their failure to supply electricity and drinking water from the last ten days.
The protesting villagers, led by Om Parkash, Sarpanch Shatrari; Jog Raj, Sarpanch Knsal Blota; Hans Raj Sarpanch Siya Mari and Badri Nath, Sarpanch Majori, raised slogans against the PDD and PHE authorities.
They alleged that the villagers were living without electricity and drinking water after snow fall for the last ten days while the authorities have done nothing to restore the power as well as the water supply. They appealed to the State Government, particularly PDD and PHE Ministers to take notice of their grievances and issue necessary directions in this regard.
