UDHAMPUR, Nov 6: Protesting against non-availability of doctors and other staff in Primary Health Centre / Sheep Husbandry Centre Ladana, locals of the area held a demonstration at the village today.
The protesting villagers raised slogans against the Sheep Husbandry Department and threatened violence if no action is taken on their grievance and demand.
The villagers said that last year Deputy Commissioner Udhampur and SDM Ramnagar has claimed that that due to shortage of doctors, for three days at PHC Badi and three day PHC Ladana, the doctor will come in rotation at both the PHCs, but doctors did not come to village Ladana till date.
They said that this village and adjoining hamlets have about 20,000 domestic animals and the local people are facing lot of problem. Same is the position at the local Hospital/ PHC. The protesting villagers appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar and Director Health Services Jammu to depute a doctor as soon as possible to the village.
